Concieved on the pill?

Ok, this is a little complicated... I have been on BC for years and haven't missed one recently, but just before my last withdrawal bleed I had some spotting (very unusual for me), and I just felt pregnant: tender breasts, lower back pain etc. So i took a test, which read negative, then a few days later, I got my withdrawal bleed. I then ran two pill packs together the next month as I was attending a wedding, so I had no withdrawal bleed last month, and now that this month's pill packet has ended, I have more spotting and feel even more pregnant. My breasts have grown and are very tender and I'm extremely tired, and getting headaches, gas, and nausea. Is it possible I was pregnant but took the test too early, and had a withdrawal bleed anyway? And if so, should I wait until after this expected withdrawal bleed to test? Could I be pregnant even if I get this next withdrawal bleed?

Just for the record, don't worry about "scaring" me, I'm married and we are planning to start TTC this summer...

Hmm, I know what you mean about the BC being high dose but I've been on the same pill for years now and have never felt this, which is why I'm wondering... I usually don't even get cramps on this brand. Only a few more days until I test and find out...

I haven't taken any antibiotics, but I know my sister got pregnant on the pill at 18 without missing any or taking any other meds. I bought a test but I'm afraid to take it, because I've been very thirsty and my friend said it could be diabetes, which I doubt because I'm not overweight or have a family history, and I'm in my 20s! So a negative would make me kinda sad AND kind of scared... I'm waiting until my next withdrawal bleed is due (4 more days), and then I'll (hopefully) know. Thanks for the help!xxx

I used to take a BC that was really high in hormones for me and it made me feel pregnant quite often right before AF. A couple of times I swore I was pregnant and I just couldn't believe the negative tests. So, maybe the same this has been happening to you and it's just a reaction from the high hormone dose?? Once I changed BC to something more mild I didn't feel like that ever again while taking BC.

It is possible to get pregnant on the pill but you sound like you don't miss any.  Have you been on antibiotics lately?  Are you taking them at the same time each day?  I would say wait until you are due for the withdraw bleeding this month and then take a test.  It is possible that some people get what they think is their period when pregnant when it is just implantation.  I know I used to get those symptoms with PMS even when I was on the pill.  Sometimes I think it was the pill itself that made me feel that way.  It may even be possible that you didn't give yourself a break from the pill last month so the increased hormones are making you feel that way.  Good luck.  If you are not pregnant good luck TTC this summer!!!!!!!

I think that the reason that you are having these symptoms are from the overload of the pill that you are on and taking packs back to back. I used to take ortho tri cyclen and I got pregnant on it due to using antibiotics but especially if you have been on the pill for quite a while it is unlikely that you are pregnant but it can happen. I would say that you would be safe to go ahead an take another test just to be safe. Best of luck!
