Did I have a miscarriage or did I get pregnant quickly?

Hello everyone,
I am over thinking right now and reading everyone elses questions, problem with that, we are all diffrent. Decided it was easier to put up my situation. OK--middle of February I took a faint positive preganancy test. Feb 28th I started bleeding and kept bleeding for 5 days--I passed a lot of tissue, no clots, only little cramping--felt a little under the weather for about a day, took a pregnancy test (middle of the day) and it was negative. Went to the Dr. the next week told them and it was assumed I miscarried but they didnt give me a test. I did have  PAP and was told everything looked normal. After a month I had still not had a period but didnt know how long to wait for one after a miscarraige. Took a pregnancy test 5 days ago (March 31st) and it was positive instantly! took one again 3 days later and it was again instantly positive. I have a Dr. appointment in 3 days. My question is, is this a new pregnancy since we havnt used protection or did I never have a miscarriage? Can you have a period with a lot of tissue, no clots (this period would have been 2 weeks late) in early pregnancy. Or did I never have a miscarriage, I am only thinking this because the pregnancy test turned positive so quickly (can it be instantly positive if you are only 2-3 weeks pregnant)???
Thanks for your help :)

I would say you had a miscarriage and luckilly got pregnant again. Your HCG levels have to drop below 5 to get a negative result. And yes it can be instantly positive at only 2 or 3 weeks. I concieved on the 12 of Oct. and had a positive on the 27th. When you went to the doctor they should have checked you more. I'm not really sure but you should see your doctor for an ultrasound for more answers and it will give you a good estimation of when you concieved. Good Luck.

Unfortunately a drop in HCG usually means you're miscarrying.  But I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!  There are certainly miracles.  With your HCG under 1000 - 1500 it's unlikely to see much of a sac.  It needs to be a little higher.

Also - your progesterone is a little low (my doc wants it to be over 15)...so you should ask about supplements.

It is still up and down. I have had my HCG levels at 830 and progesterone at 11, and then two days later the progeterone was the same but the HCG was 740. So today they took blood again and I am doing the waiting game again. We dont know how far along I am because I have not had a normal period since january, but the miscarriage at the end of Febuary. They are not positive if they see a fetus on the ultrasound and between two days they did not see any change it was could have possibly been the sac. So Dr. is still checking, but will know more when I get my levels results again. I have my fingers for increased numbers and the reason we are not seeing much is just that I am really early. Keep your fingers crossed for me and my sanity :)

I agree. Ever since I had my first MC in 07' anytime I go see my OB and I even suspect I might be pregnant he does a sono just to be safe. I usually have like 3 or 4 sonos in my first trimester LOL my doc is amazing. I would just rest and try not to worry. Have you had a period yet this month? I mean for March?

I thought that too about the negative test, but I guess I was confused because I took it in the afternoon and had not been holding pee for any amount of time, I just took it cause I was confused. I am having an ultrasound in a few days, just anxious until then. and the whole maybe it wasnt a miscarriage is confusing, Dr. should really check more and not take your word when you have never had a miscarriage before.
