Dilation checks?

I'm going in for my 38w appointment in a few hours. When do they start regular checks for dilation?

A lot of drs start at 36 weeks but my dr you have to ask to be checked or they usually won't do it. I always asked :-)

Depends where you're from, I didn't get checked until I was in labour

You should tell them you want to be checked. They should start at 36 wks.

My doctor started at 35 weeks but I'm sure if you ask him or her they might do it if your showing signs

Some doctors don't check until you go into labor. My doctor started checking at 36 weeks.

I was checked last week only because my symptoms sounded like labor. I was only 1cm up high and not effaced.
