Doctors have missed tests and I have no idea what is going on, need help from ladies in 1st trimester

I'm totally confused.. any advice welcomed!!  I'm 11 weeks and 4 days.

I saw the midwife for my first (and only so far) appt at 7 weeks.  She skipped over some info about diet, health, screening tests, filled in a form about family history, gave me my hand held notes and took height, weight and blood pressure (88/50 which I've since found out is very low and should have been monitored considering its usually 120/80)  This appointment ended in the midwife telling me to book in for bloods at 10 weeks which I did.

couple of weeks later I booked in for my 12 week scan where I was asked if I wanted a nuchal translucency scan or just regular.. must have sounded a right idiot because I didn't know what that was as it wasn't explained to me.  She informed me it was for downs syndrome and had no risks involved and I agreed still not knowing the real details as she sounded pretty busy.

at 10 weeks I went into the doctors for blood tests, where I was told as the midwife hadn't given me the 3 forms the nurse couldnt do my bloods and I had to rebook for the following week (today). I checked that there would be enough time for the bloods to be processed before the scan and was assured yes.

I've just been in today where only 2 of the 3 forms had been sorted out.  A phone-call from the doctors has just told me that its too late to do some of the tests because it had to be done before 11 weeks, but surely the nurse last week should have known that!  To be honest the doctors haven't even explained which tests I wont be having now or what the hell is going on. A call to the practice manager didn't help much either. As far as I can make out I'm only going to miss the downs syndrome test, which I'm not too concerned about as Dom and I are both young with no health problems etc, but I'm hoping this is all i've missed.

This is my first pregnancy and I haven't got a clue what's normal and what's not.  I went through an ectopic already and really want everything to be OK, which I'm sure it is but I've lost all confidence in my surgery so will be changing asap. If anyone can tell what I've missed or anything else that should have been done through your experience, please help!!

Im going back into the surgery in a bit to meet with a doctor who is going to go through everything with me but have found a new surgery that is happy to accept me. I have a history of anaemia so apparently one of the two (sickle cell or thalassimia don't know which) is important for me to have done.  the surgery is blaming everything on the midwife and viceversa so will be easier for me to just switch I think.

cassandrajane, have you no idea how far along you are at all? they should definitely have scanned, especially with the bleeding too!!
hope you get a new midwife sorted

Im trying, there is only one Dr surgery in my area... aha, and I cant travel too far as no money haha.... Cause I havent been to college/ work thing in 3 weeks due to not being able to move haha... Well i went yesterday and get £50 tomorrow, thats straight in the Peanut fund for baby stuff haha....

But you NEED those tests, They should test for something called Sickle Cell and Thalassimia (I cant spell) and if you're a carrier then your partner NEEDS to be tested as well... This should have been tested on the day of your Apt..

I had all my blood tests the same day as my Midwife apt, but they refuse to scan me, So I dont know how far along I am. Basically if you have a high count of something (for the DS test) then they may have to do an Amio.. I think thats what its called, they stick a needle into your stomach and take fluid from around the baby this has a 1% miscarrige rate, BUT you can say no and wait untill birth.... for the needle in your belly.
My Midwife didnt explain much to me, and neither does my doctor. For the blood tests I havee to have them ALL done again TWICE because my midwife didnt lable the bottles and I have to have them done at the Hosp.

If you didnt like the way she treated you. Ask for a new one. I am.
They dont wanna scan me untill I am 12 weeks, BUT No one know how far gone I Actually am, So they will never Know when I am 12 weeks, and they wont do it sooner even though I had a bit of bleeding.... You need to make it clear you dont like the way they are treating you.

They should have taken your Blood there and then at your First Midwife apt, and asked what hospital you'd like to deliever at... if they didnt you should tell them. Basically they should have let you have your input, Mine didnt and now I am kicking myself for it. My GP is just as bad... and its rather annoying...
Id change ASAP!

Sorry your midwife is rubbish haha. I wish you luck
