Does Pitocin(oxytocin) cause vomiting?

I read it can make you pretty sick. I dont want that to interfere with the bonding of my child. I know they can give it to you for induction, to speed up labor or if labor isnt progressing and after labor. Can you opt out?? I really dont want it.

I threw up during my last labor and delivery. They had me go through an entire bag of Pitocin, even though I didn't NEED it. I'm going to be more tenacious this time around because I felt so awful I couldn't hold the baby. Some hospitals have rules and regulations in which they have to give it to you within a certain timeframe. Definitely ask about that.

They FINALLY gave me anti-nausea medicine and it was instantaneous relief.  ???  I don't know what the heck they were thinking. They could clearly see I felt like crud. I threw up 5 times, too. So they waited until 1 hour after she was born to give me the meds when I've been reading other women get it when they need it. Grrr... now I'm getting angry just remembering it and this was two years ago!
