Does having group B strep mean you have a Csection?

I have a weird reason for asking this question I don't have Group B Strep, but a young relative of mine does and she's telling everyone that they are requiring her to have a csection becasue of it. She's due in 3 weeks and said they won't schedule her section until after her due date? She's kind of a train wreck didn't even know she was pregnant until around 15 weeks because she was drinking and doing hard drugs. Since finding out I think she's only been to see a dr a couple of times. She keeps telling us that she's going to the dr every week, but we suspect she's pocketing the money for these visits.

So would strep prevent you from having a vaginal delivery?

I had it for all four of my pregnancies and all they did was give me antibiotics during labor and delivery through the iv bit last time since I delivered so fast (under 45 mins ) I got a I m shot of antibiotics.  all my babies were fine the only that was different was my Dr kept me in thw hospital for 72 hrs instead of 48 hrs but that is thw policy for my dr office and hospital.

I tested positive for it twice last pregnancy and was just given antibiotics when I went into labor. It's rare for it to pass to the baby, BUT if it does, it's very serious. But a csection is not necessary, unless that's what the woman wants. With my first I was never even tested for it so I have no clue if I had it then or not and delivered vaginally. Just depends I guess!

I had streph & wit both my babies n I had them normal(vag) they never once meantioned a csection cuz of it... she's blowing smoke out her bottom lol...
And if she hasn't been to the dr like she's suppose to than she might not knw what kind of meds she needs if she goes into labor n her dr isn't around or she's somewhere else...

Typically they will give you antibiotics while you are in labor.  Some doctors DO prefer to do a c-section, it isn't typically NECESSARY though.

No Group B strep would not prevent you for delivering vaginally, she would just need to get at least 1 dose of antibiotics while in labour.
