I worked at Claires for three years normally people pierce there babies with the gold post earrings. We are trained to sell so of course they say the gold is better... But honestly it depends on if you and your partner have any allergies to metals. If you keep up with the after care it shouldn't matter what you pierce with.
My nephew had to be 4 months old to have his done and you have to take their birth book to prove there over 4 months. Not sure if its the same everywhere? And gold or silver earrings incase she has a reaction: )
When my daughter was three months i had hers done and they would only allow me to pick out 14k gold earrings our they wont do it
My husband won't cute pierce our daughters ears.. :/
Where I live they only use stainless steel earrings to pierce babies ears I guess its where u from
I wouldn't recommend stainless steel for baby's earrings. I'd stick with either a 24 karat gold plated, surgical plastic, or other hypoallergenic material.... Most places also have specific earrings that they pierce with, so a lot of times you can't pick just any earrings that you like.
When they are babies you need to get real silver or gold just in case the end up having sensitive skin! They also have to be able to hold their heads up alone. I went to piercing place in the mall I can't remember the name of it but I know a lot of people use Claire's.
