Epidural vs. unmedicated birth

I'm thinking I want to give birth without medication (except in emergency) & I was wondering, havw any of you had both an epidural birth as well as an unmedicated birth? & what are the pros & cons? Any comments about either choir would be great(: I just want ideas on which experiences I could havw

Thank you! <3

i have had 2 boys with no meds i refuse to be hooked up to a iv unless somethign is wrong with the baby i dont like the feeling when i want to get up and walk i have all those damn cords on.  My biggest thing with the epidural is that once you get it you have to stay in bed and even after the baby you have to lay there for so many hours till things wear off at our hospital anyway!  so thats not for me i like to get in the tub while in labor and walk lots to make things get going i have also heard people who get them it slow things down i am now 28weeks with a girl and we will also be doing no meds unless ther are complications and is needed

well i had to have a section so needed the epidural and honestly had no problems with it. the drip lines they put in for the fluids hurt the most! haha. at the end of the day every woman is different and only you will know if you can or cant go without medication all i would say is dont think any less. humans have come a long way to make child birth a little easier to bare. good luck
