I also lovedddd the epidural. I've had two,  third pregnancy, & each time. . Soon after I got the epidural,  I delivered my babies fast. Never had any side effects.

I had a good experience with it!  Your contractions are def more painful then the epidural, and it makes labor so much more enjoyable!!

How is it funny? And i agree about knowing what youre getting yourself into before getting it done bt thats why they give you forms to read and sign its not like theyre not telling you effects you can have. I got it done with my first and i didnt even feel any pain from the needle, it did however run out right before it was time to push so they couldnt put more in. I ended up feeling all the pushing, then again i did have a 10 lb baby it was horrible pain i blacked out 5 mins into pushing and came to when my daughter was out lol.

Yes it depends. I have bad back problems and when I gave in and got a epidural. And once u have one u r made to stay your back only slightly raised and bc of that o got back pain so sever I was almost in tears. And nothing numbs bone pain. Plus yrs I had no contraction pain but felt everything done stairs the numbned only worked to my pubic bone. And the epidural it self stung like a witch not pleasent. I still have a special pain in that area that's tons worse with pregnacy. But some swear by it. I swear ill have to be out.of my mind to ever do it again.

Mnms2 thats horrible! I had a good experience numbed me completely but I still was able to birth quite easily and quickly even though I couldn't feel too much. I did feel a bunch of stinging once that baby was crowning! But back pain yes I do get every once in a while:/ my mom had a bad experience with the epidural it only numbed half of her and my grandma had verygood experiences shes gotten the epidural ten times and she never got back pain! So yes everyone is different and depends who does it also.

I hated mine..I suggest u talk to women u know who have had a epidural at the hospitalu plan to birth at. the anastesiolagist who did mine messed up and had to do it again, because of that I still have.back problems my son is 2 1/2 and they are made worse with this pregnancy. also not sure why but I went into withdrawl.from.mine I couldn'tget dressed or stand on my own because I was shaking so bad and I was freezing even in a warm bath nothing kept.me.warm. just some things to be aware of. so ppl have a perfect experience others like me.get the "perfect storm"

I had the epidural with my first and wow it is a big life saver! I plan to get it again this month! July2baby no it does not hurt your contractions hurt way more to the point you can't even feel them put the epidural cause all you literally feel is contractions! But man once the epidural kicks in you'll be in heaven! Haha different experience for every one, I had a great one.
