Experiences w/ fetal heartbeat monitor...one you have at home

What's the earliest you could hear your baby's heart beat?  How did you like having the monitor?

I got a Hi Bebe fetal heartbeat monitor from a lady off craigslist.  I'm only 5 1/2 weeks so far but I thought I picked up a heartbeat.  It beat about 15 times at 170 then I lost it.  That happened about 4 times.  Could this be something else?  It had rhythm.

I couldn't hear the heartbeat until 10 weeks and it took me forever to find it. I think 5 weeks is to early to hear anything. I think you are picking up something else. Sorry.

After reading reviews online I opted to rent a nice one. In fact mine works better than the one at my ob's office. It has a digital reader on the side that tells me the hb so there is no guessing. It cost 45 a month, the first month was 35. I LOVE IT. I got it at 10 weeks and I've always been able to pick the hb right up.

Because I had a prior mc it was so nice for me to have this to put my mind at ease in between those appointments. I use it to check the hb about once or twice a week.

Oh if you want to know the company I used was belly beats. Good luck!

Thanks, I've put it aside for awhile but I can't wait until it works.  My mom had 5 miscarriages and it scares me so much.  It will make me feel better to know that at least the little heart it going strong.

We had IVF to get pregnant.
