First time mommy and I have a few questions.

Hello mommies,  I wanted to know what should I bring to the delivery room with me when I go? I'm so uncertain and confused on what to take. And also about breastfeeding, is it hard to do? Does it hurt while you feed or also are the breasts still sore after birth? And Do the breasts always leak? I want to do that and give my baby breast milk. But I'm unsure if it will hurt. I'm worried

Chapstick! While in labor I was only allowed ice chips. My mouth was so dry my lips cracked and hurt. Also, I had terrible back labor. I did not have an epidural because that scares me. My mother brought a microwaveable heating pad. That was a huge relief. While that was warming up in the microwave my husband and mother massaged my lower back to ease the pain. I recommend massage oil or lotion. I didn't have any and had a raw spot on my back from the constant rubbing.

See with my hospital  ( I live in the uk) they don't provide you with anything apart from warm water and food for yourself :/

I guess everyone is different because breastfeeding for me was so painful! I only did it for a few days &stopped my boobs hurt so much. It hurt to lay flat on my back or on my side. My boobs also constantly leaked. Hope your experience is better than mine.

You should see what your hospital provides first. For me I didnt want to take anything that I wouldnt use or need. The majority of hospitals provide all baby essentials (wipes, diapers, hat, bottles, formula) most of them also provide pads. I took 2 sleeping gowns, robe, socks, personal hygiene stuff (hair stuff, deodorant blah blah), an outfit to wear home. For baby I took my nursing pillow a few outfits that I'm not even sure if I'm going to use, socks, hand mitts, going home outfit and blanket and I just let my husband throw in his own stuff he just put in some outfits and underwear and stuff. I did pack snacks I took pretzels and granola bars and pineapple juice (the pineapple juice is to help with swelling of the breast when my milk comes in). I also am not taking my diaper bag

Breastfeeding is not that bad. It's uncomfortable at first but it's way easy. As for what you should bring the woman above has it down pat but for your own sanity if you have long hair bring hair ties about 2-4 because that is one of the things that i was so glad I had

As for breast feeding I didn't find it hurt as much as people say as some like to exaggerate it can be hard to get into doing but if you ask the midwife there they will support and help you

P.s. when breastfeeding you do leak a bit of milk
