Some things, people havent suggested yet....baby monitors, pacifiers, bumbo chairs, and jumperoo(once older.....my son LOVED his!) A swing was already suggested but think itsa must have. It was a lifesaver with all 3 of my kids. Try to find one that not only takes batteries but plugs into an outlet as well. I have spent a small fortune on batteries! Lol

hi there,
as for diapers and wipes. i would recommend just getting one package of each to start. every child is different and you never know what brand will work for them. we were lucky enough that the newborn pampers worked for us to begin with. just try the package out before investing in too much and then finding it gives him a rash or leaks.
don't forget your crib too. we also really enjoyed the vibrating chair. you will also have to consider a changing area or areas in your house. at some point, usually 6 months, a high chair. a lot of moms love play pens for vacations and for going outside in, or in the living room if you have a big home. then there are little things, like a baby hair brush and nail clippers for baby, baby shampoo and such.
i would recommend just walking through baby stores and getting ideas from there. go to toy stores and look around at their selection, might spark an idea.
have fun shopping and don't stress, if you forgot something you can always pick it up later. ; )

I suggest a swing and one if those mats that have the toys that dangle. Once they're awake for longer then it takes them to eat it makes you feel batter to have something to put them in or under. Also for the hospital bring slip on shoes for you incase you swell after birth, entertainment for the hubby/boyfriend/partner, relaxation stuff for while you're in labor.

Agreed with mommyofaria..... you will need lots of sleepers. I had about 4 with my 1st and soon realized it wasn't near enough. When they r newborn they like to be wrapped tight so plenty of the receiving blankets. Congrats and good luck. :-)
