Government Assistance

I'm 24, I'm in school, don't work, and under my parents insurance. I grew up kind of with a silver spoon and I'm finding out my baby won't be covered under my parents insurance. I have NEVER been under government assistance and I'm kind of nervous about the whole situation. My baby's dad is in the reserves and is planning on going active duty but that's not until next year after the baby is born. Is anyone else on government assistance as far as insurance goes? Any suggestions?

Lol. I wish my baby could just be covered under my parents because my baby's father is so lazy and I hate depending on him. But I will also have medicaid now so I may not put my baby on tricare.

You won't have to pay anything back and your baby can be the only one on it. Even when your baby daddy puts the baby on his health insurance you can keep the baby on medicaid that's what I do. My son has three insurances he's covered under my dad he has medicaid and his dad is court ordered to pay for health insurance haha

You don't have to pay anything back and it won't affect future jobs or anything like that.. it's based on income you would apply with you and your man  as a household so if the baby can be covered under his insurance they might deny you

Everything is free thank God!!! If he's insured he can add the baby as a dependent that's what my bf is doing so our baby will be covered twice which is always good.

Do you have to pay back for medicaid or wic? Do you know if affects future job opportunities? Do you know if my bd has to be insured in order for my baby to be covered? Thank you so much for replying to my post!!

Yes government insurance isnt bad. No copays which is good. And will cover all the baby's doc visits shots er visits. Its not the best but its good.

I applied for medicaid even tho I dnt need it but my baby does because I'm covered by the va and they dnt pay for the baby once it's born. But medicaid helps as well as wic. Once you bd goes active he can get the baby insured but he can do it now even in the reserve he just has to pay out of pocket for something's but it would help you now.
