So congratulations on the pregnancy and the twins! I can't answer your question about how big you should be now because I have never had twins, but I CAN tell you that you CAN have postpartum depression when you are pregnant. I conceived my daughter 2 months after having my son and struggled the entire pregnancy with SEVERE postpartum depression. There ARE anti-depressants that you can take when you are pregnant. That pregnancy has made it so my husband is worried that I am going to act like that throughout this pregnancy and made it so he didn't really want me to have another baby. Please go see your doctor and good luck to you!
hi I dont know why noones answering me. up untill the day i logged in here i did not have a computer. i am not really sure how to even do much on here. i am trying to ask questions and get answers like everyone else here but noones responding to me. i am trying to find out how big am I supposed to be at 8 weeks pregnant with twins. I look like I am 4 months at 2 months. is this normal?
hi. with twins when are you supposed to start showing?
i am about 7 to 8 weeks but i look like I am 16 weeks. is this a normal occurrance with twins?
yes. i went to the hospital last night. late with alot of sharp pains.
How do you know it's twins? Did you get an u/s done?
so you are telling me that even though my son is turning 1 in august and i am pregnant now with twins that it is still possible to get postpartum depression?
Regarding your comment I AM SOOO FRUSTRATED. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CLEAN THE HOUSE TO AND ALL I CAN DO IS SIT HERE AND CRY LIKE A CRAZY WOMAN. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME. I AM SO LOST AND FRUSTRATED. WHAT CAN I DO? -- please go see your ob-gyn right away. When someone gets so lost and frustrated after having a child, it can be post-partum depression, even this late after the baby was born. And there is a world of good help to be had if you do get medical attention. Good luck!
Talk to your doctor.
Twins run rampant on my side of the family and from talking to them they never had any other symptoms stronger or weaker than people with one baby. The only difference is they got a huge belly faster...but not at 5 weeks.
If things are that hard on you and you're having those severe of mood swings you may want to go to your doctor. Just watch in the u/s to see if there are two babies. That's the only way you're going to know.
MY SON HAS BEEN CRYING ALL DAY. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO EAT BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN TOO BUSY TRYING TO GET HIM TO GO TO SLEEP. HE IS 11 MONTHS OLD AND HAS BEEN CRYING ALL DAY. HE WONT TAKE A NAP OR DRINK HIS BOTTLE. I AM AT MY WITS END. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

What can I do about these alarming moodswings? i get so emotional its making me snap on my husband. i really believe I am pregnant. i am still late. pregnancy mood swings have never been like this for me. the mood swings are starting to alarm me. please help me!!!!!!!!!! mood terrified.
As Clysta says, Identical twins do not run in families, and a history of fraternal twins only helps if it comes in on the mother's side. I am sorry you are crying, please just go to the doctor and get a blood test. Good luck.
The only genetics that matter are on the females side. So it doesn't matter if your husband is or not. The fact that you're an identical twin means your chances aren't higher. Fraternal twins can run in families, but identical twins are a 3 in 1000 chance birth.
Your weight gain is alarming, and I can't imagine twins would do that. At 5-6 weeks they're not large enough to cause a 13 pound difference. You need an ultrasound done, or beta blood work to find out your hCG levels. If your levels are under 5, you're not pregnant. The fact that your previous son wasn't seen on ultrasound until 16 weeks is likely based on the doctors lack of experience and/or the equipment.
i am so scared i am actually crying. i am not scared of being pregnant its just usually when i think i am prego with a boy or girl I am right. now i think its twins, my husband says I am getting bigger. its only been like 5 or 6 weeks. is this possible? you know to gain weight like this fast? a few weeks ago i weighed in at 115.4 now i weigh 128.5 so scared. could it really be twins? my husband is a fraternal twin I am an identical twin. whats the probability and what are the main signs and factors to look for? so nervous I cant think. help me please. the baby you see in the pic is my 3rd child 2nd boy. with him he did not show on ultrasound till I was 16 weeks prego. i tested negative up untill 11 weeks. when I was 11 weeks preg I finally tested positive. the doc gave me an utrasound and didnt see him at 16 weeks had to go back and there he was on the screen. i have always wanted twins. but it scares me when I am right.
When I had twins, I did not know from the symptoms, just from the ultrasound. If you have a twin pregnancy especially, the hCG levels would be up there enough by now to get a plus on a pregnancy test. In other words, test now, you can rely on the answer.
Most people don't know they are having twins until it is found, by chance, on an ultrasound screen. The only symptom that I know of that some women have, is that they get much bigger, much quicker than what they would with only one baby....for obvious reasons. Those are the only facts I know. Stronger symptoms?? I guess it's possible since your hormone levels are probably higher having to support more than one baby, but not necessarily. I know a girl on here having twins and she actually said her symptoms were less, but that she did start to show much earlier. The fact is, all women are different so no one answer is going to necessarily be true for you. Good luck.
