HCG levels high-Am not pregnant

I went to the ER last week for diverticulitis.  The doctor accidentally clicked "pregnancy test" when ordering bloodwork.  When it came back positive he immediately apologized.  I have NO lad parts inside.  No uterus, no tubes, no cervix even.  Theoretically this should not be.  It does offer a possible explanation for the nausea I have been experiencing for the last couple of months.  WHY is this happening?
