Having Contractions - FTM -Please comment

So I'm 5 days overdue and think my little man is finally ready to make an appearance!! I have been having contractions for the past 5 hours, they were only coming about every 20mins but are now more often, each one only lasts about 30-40 seconds,  is that normal? ?? I'm now getting 3 every 12-15mins, my hospital  has made it clear not to go in til you get 3 in every 10mins so I know im not quite there yet. But it is a 50min drive to the hospital so want to make sure I obviously make it there on time. Can contractions slow down or will it only speed up from here???

I would wait a bit. Try to stop labor (I know it sounds counter productive). True labor won't stop when you change activities, eat, drink, take a bath, etc. In fact if you're really in labor all these things might speed it up. I'd wait until you're the recommended intervals. First time labor can take a long time and it's much more comfortable to labor at home than at a hospital.
