Hcg levels...so confused!!!!

I am 30 years old & my husband and I have been TTC for 6 years. We just found out last Thursday that we are pregnant! My hcg levels were at 30. The doctor retested yesterday & the levels were at 187. Since my doc wasn't in, the nurse told me that this is good...that we want the numbers to double every 48 hours or so. However, silly me started googling the numbers & found forums where some women say this is low for around 4 weeks pregnant &I others that say as long as it doubles its normal. Can anyone shed some light on this?

If the nurse said its ok then you are ok.  See what it is in a couple days again!  CONGRATS!!!!

As long as it doubles or near-doubles in 48 hours, it is normal.
