More insurance problems, so stressed, please help.

Alright, I applied for Medicaid and they said my application got approved and they gave me a State ID number and to take it to all of my appointments but that the application would be sent to my local Department of Social/Human Services for eligibility determination.... So do I have the insurance or not? I opened the mail and had 2 bills for laboratory work for a total of $515 and where the sections are for insurance that say if they paid any of it, there's no number under the Medicaid section, and the "You Pay" part is that grand total. I don't know if I don't pay it, or if I have to pay it or what to do? I'm so frustrated, I have an ultrasound tomorrow and I'm not going to go if I'm going to get another surprise like this in the mail. Has anyone else had this problem? It's been about 3 weeks since I applied...

I don't think you would be denied your pregnant. As long as your not making so much. You will get approved and once they approve you. You can tell them you have medical bills from you apt you need to pay but can't afford and they will cover it for you.

I just called the lady who is in charge of processing it and it hasn't even been processed yet. I'm just afraid that if I keep going to appointments and build up my accounts, then with my luck I'll get denied and owe a crap ton of money :(

Call them they could approve it right over the phone. It should retroactively work and cover everything

If you have your state ID# call bill collectors and give them the number that Ins is retroactive so your bills will be covered. Do not miss Dr appt

I would suggest that you call Medicaid right away, you can give them the invoice #s to submit for coverage, they will also be able to tell you if it's covered, usually if you have been approved anything pregnancy related is covered. They do have different levels of coverage though. Relax you can get this taken care of!

Just call the bill people on the paper and give them the number the insurance people gave you. And I would call the obgyn place and give them that number too so they can verify it. So you won't get another bill in the mail.
