Help! Mucus Plug or...

I'm a little alarmed and I know this is TMI but I need a few opinions before I freak out. When I went to the bathroom earlier I noticed that a large amount of yellowish/clear mucus was on the TP when I wiped. It was really thick and sticky and looked kind of chunky. I've been to the bathroom since and while there was a bit less it was still present. I'm worried that I might be losing my mucus plug. I'm only 21 weeks!

Just an update: Called my OB office and the on call nurse said to keep my feet up, not lift more than 5lbs and to make sure I was drinking at least 8 oz of water for every hour I was awake. I'm supposed to call and talk to my doctor on Monday and see if they want me to come in so they can take a look at my uterus to make sure I'm not thinning or effacing.

This sounds more like the vaginal discharge that you get throughout pregnancy. I always have a lot and it ranges from white to yellow. I wear panty liners because it gets on my chones a lot. I would only worry if it is followed by cramps or the early signs of labor.

I had a golf ball size clump of mucus- completely yellowish though- at 18 weeks. They checked- I had not dialated at all- and they told me that it's simply because your body produces SO MUCH extra mucus and sometimes things will trigger your body to discard some of it. I think as long as it's not bloody you're fine.

I'm not sure. If it was the consistency of snot like a big nasty loogie then it might be. If call your OB either way to be safe. Your plug can regenerate so don't panic too much yet

It sounds like it could be the mucus plug but unless its bloodily I wouldn't really worry about it since your body can regenerate it multiple times during pregnancy. I lost mine around 20 weeks the first time as well and then again around 30 weeks and then the bloody show at 38 weeks and delivered at 39 weeks.
