I was told after you first pregnancy it is not uncommon to dialate early. I dialated to 1 cm at 23 weeks and now I'm almost 29 and nothings changed. But I do get weekly checks by ultrasound to check my cervix.

Did you ask your ob what you should do to prevent preterm labor? Did she bring it up at all? If she told you there is nothing she can do before you are 24 weeks,  she is wrong.  Actually,  I believe a cerclage can only be done BEFORE 24 weeks. I'm not 100% sure and I'm not a dr but that's what I remember learning.

Anyway,  you should look up Perinatologists in your area. Just call them and tell them you want to switch drs. They will prob let you come in.  For now,  take it easy,  you might want to avoid sex until you speak with a  doctor.  Good luck.  Hope you and your little man come out of this okay.  Keep us posted.

You can even Google a specialist in your area. Call make sure they take your insurance and go. For modt you don't need to be referred. Some women aren't so lucky to be walking around dilated for months. I sure wasn't and you don't know if you are either.  My advice is don't take any chances.

Can I request to see a high risk doctor?
I just moved to this area so this is a new obgyn for me and I don't like her after yesterday. I don't want to lose my baby because of her

Wow what a bad doctor. Could you get a second opinion? Many people can be dilated 2/3cm even 4cm for 2 or 3 months before baby is born. Try take it easy with walking and heavy lifting and hopefully you can get a cervical stitch

A baby can live outside the womb at 24 weeks, but its a rough and long struggle for them after that. Im suprised she told you she couldnt do it right away? Im curious about the reasoning behind that one

I had mine done at 14weeks and it's my 3rd one. Maybe you can go see a specialist like a high risk Dr.My reg OBGYN had me lose 2 babies before I'd had enough.

You may need a cerclage. Its when they stitch your cervix shut so baby doesn't come out. I think the chances are ok starting at 27 weeks.
