Hoping for 1st child... help please? =)

Hello to everyone. =) This is my first post on here and I am really hoping that someone can help me.
My husband and I had sex (unprotected, using pull-out method, although some got in me) 2-3 weeks before I was due to get my period, and I started feeling a little nauseous and a little more (but not too noticeably) tired about a week before my period. Usually when I'm about to start my period, I get cramps (not usually horrible-more moderate than anything) like a week before starting. This time, I had very weak cramps starting the day before my "period", which was unusual. Then my period was a few days late and it was lighter than usual and only lasted 3 days instead of my normal 5 days and I am still having weak cramps.. I am still feeling a little queasy from time-to-time and I have been urinating more than usual, but my breasts don't hurt or anything. I was wondering if I might be pregnant. Or if it's even worth it to buy a pregnancy test. Thanks for any input. =)

Well in the case of my husband, who has a "if it happens, it happens" frame of mind, it will be a surprise! lol... But for me, I want one really bad, so I am really hoping that pregnancy is the cause for my symptoms! haha. I know all too well that they are caused by other things. Keep your fingers crossed for me! =) I think tonight I will go buy a test (a three-pack like you suggested =P) and let you know!

trust me i know the disappointment in the negative readings...and you usually get pregnant when you're not expecting it...this is my experience at least...i do suggest buying more than one test and retest next month if you don't get your period and if it is abnormal again sometimes it maybe to early to show on the test....or contact your doctor they can send you for the blood work which gives a definete answer!

Two weeks before your period is due is a good time to make a baby.  What you describe as symptoms can happen in early pregnancy.  They can also be caused by other things.  If your period is usually regular and it was late and light, I would say that you should take a test just in case.  Many of us on this site understand very well how painful it is to want to see a positive and to see a negative instead.  However, if you are pregnant, you want to know now so that you can start caring for your body properly.  Best of luck to you.

Right. I guess I'm not so much worried about wasting money on something that is probably in my head (lol) but I am just worried about how hard I'll take it when the test comes back negative. Everything seems so dead-on for pregnancy, but I thought was pregnant before and the test was negative. =(

i would definetly buy a home preg test they are rather cheap and you can buy them in packs of three so you have more for future testing in the event its neg. and you never know many women report having a period during their pregnancy! good luck keep us updated...
