Horror Stories....

Ok, so people have been telling me how risky the first 12 weeks of pregnancy are. And that basically I shouldn't be  getting my hopes up about having a healthy normal pregnancy because nothing is certain. It scares me and makes constantly check if I'm bleeding or any little cramp or ache makes me nervous. It makes me so hesitant now to tell anyone else that I am pregnant. I will be 8 weeks tomorrow and I just count the days until my appointment at my Obgyn. Has anyone experienced such negativity. It honestly makes me so sad and paranoid.  This is supposed to be wonderful and exciting.

One you see your baby's heartbeat on an ultrasound the risk of miscarriage goes down to like 5% which you should be able to see at 6 weeks

Thanks so much guys that makes me feel a lot better. This is my first pregnancy. And I've had mild to light cramping which my doctor said is normal. I've also just had nausea and acid reflux. So nothing drastic but like I said the negative people have really put a damper on this for me. But again thanks so so much :)

People love to be negative and rain on your parade, however only about 5-7%/of pregnancies end in miscarriage. So while it may seem like its a huge threat, the truth is most pregnancies are healthy and continue on to full term. Also remember that the majority or those miscarriages are due to genetic and chromosomal abnormalities that occur in the developing embryo and that most of the time there is nothing that can be done to prevent it. Very few miscarriages happen from trauma, or maternal drug exposure (both legal and illegal). Best advice is try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Stress isn't healthy at any time, especially when you're pregnant.

Yes there is risk that declines after 12wks. If you have never miscarried and are in pretty good health dont stress. Enjoy your pregnancy symptoms :) lol. Spotting can be normal in pregnancy too. You only need to worry if you have intense period cramps an heavy bleeding. Hope this helps.

Awhh.... Don't listen to them! They're miserable, so they're trying to make you miserable. You enjoy yourself... And just be cautious of what you do.. Not all paranoid like, but careful. The first 12weeks are risky.. But that's if you're not paying attention to what's going on.

Relaxxxx....
