How to quite smoking.

Hi I have a serious question that I been wanting to ask but been afraid on how people would judge me. I'm not trying to hurt my baby but its hard. I have been smoking since I was 17. I stopped during my other pregnancies but this one its very hard. How can I quite this nasty habit so I can have a healthy baby. But I want to do it for myself also. I just need some help!

What stopped  me was knowing that what I was doing is literally hurting my baby. If She kicked while I had one I felt sooooo guilty and couldn't do it anymore.

The only thing that worked for me was just toughing through it, the first craving is a b*tch to get through bit once you do it like okay I did it once I can  do it again. Goodluck mama

What helped me when I was stressing was looking up the benefits of quitting smoking for pregnancy and in general, as well as looking up all the nasty things in cigarettes. Thinking of the ultrasounds helps as well. Sure its one thing to poison yourself, but to possibly forever alter that baby is a terrible thing to consciously do and not feel a little bit guilty. No judgement though it is super hard, the only thing I regret about it is not quitting sooner for fear of how crazy I would go, and it really wasnt bad. The continuous willpower to have more days under your belt for you and your baby is the hard part and the most rewarding. (: also, pig out!! I did, and started going on walks more. Fresh air becomes quite magical after you quit, trust me (:

I struggled with this too because I am nineteen and had been literally addicted to cigarettes since 12. I always thought when I got pregnant I'd quit right away, and that was that but my family scared me by saying the withdrawals would be harmful if I quit cold turkey so of course I tried to slowly wean myself down from a pack a day to one or two to even a half of one but it was so stressful especially since my fiance smoked normally and it drove me nuts and some days I'd end up smoking up to 7 or 8 and I'd feel so bad. Finally, I realized "weaning" was never going to work! It was more stressful trying to just smoke a little bit than it was to quit completely! So after 7 years, one morning (at about 25 weeks) I just didn't smoke. I stayed in my room and didn't leave unless I had to, and after three days I kept a tally every day I successfully stayed smoke free. Its easy to say no when you dont have to smell it or see it, you think about it less and less but it is 100% willpower every time you're around a smoker after that. It does get easier but you will always think oh maybe i can have one but you cant. Smoke free since and I'm 32 weeks now (:

they say the cravings are at their worst a for the firdt few minutes and should subside after about 20 mins. so trying to distract yourself, drinking water, chewing sugar free gum, doing something you enjoy. light exercise is good as well. look up quitting smoking through google. they got other suggestions from others that might help you as well. best of luck. x :)
