I am 7 weeks pregnant. 2 bloodtests, 48 hrs apart done at 5 weeks show hcg levels are low. Pap showed possitive for chlamydia but treated now. Is it ectopic?

my last NORMAL period was oct. 12, 2009. on November 15, 2009I had what I thought was breakthrough bleeding that lasted 4 days (probably just a period). I found out I was pregnant on Dec. 10, 2009 ( about 3 weeks ago) When I went to the OB Gyn on December 21 (2 weeks ago), the OB did a pap and a sonogram.
At the time, I thought I was about 8 weeks pregnant, but the OB said that I was only about 5 weeks because the sonogram showed only a small sac. This was no suprise because we concluded that the bleeding on Nov. 15 was indeed a period. Just to make sure, she looked at my ovaries and Fallopian tubes. Both looked normal. She took bloodwork aswell to test the HCG levels. She suggested that I come back in 48 hours to see if my hcg and progesterone levels were rising.
I got a call yesterday (Dec.31) saying that I tested possitive for chlamydia and that the OB was concerned with my hcg levels. They want me to come in on Monday (Jan. 4,) for a sonogram and/or more bloodwork.
I immediately went to the pharmacy and got the medication ( 2 large pills) and took it last night.
( My partner and I are abstaining from sexual activity until he is treated as well.)
I know that Chlamydia can lead to ectopic pregnancy and the doctor was concerned with hcg levels.
I haven't had any bleeding or other symptoms of ectopic pregnancy, so I still believe that things are ok.
Has anyone ever had low Hcg/ progesterone levels and the baby been healthy/ not healthy/ ectopic?
Has anyone had chlamydia while pregnant or at all?
I am staying confident and trusting in god that our baby is completely healthy and growing in my uterus.
I really need to talk to someone about all of this.
If anyone has anything helpful to say, please do.
Thank you
ps.. This baby was planned and is very loved so I am really hoping for the best. Please pray for us.

I went to the ER and they did an ultrasound: Everything is fine! The baby is in my uterus, there is a heart beat, my HCG level was 93thousand and something. They said that I am 7 weeks pregnant and everything is perfectly fine. YAY!!!!!!!!! Always have hope! Thank you everyone.

I just came back from the doctors after having my first blood test done. I won't get the results until tomorrow but I am only 4 weeks 3 days pregnant. My doctor told me that if my level come back OVER 5,000 then they do NOT retest because levels that high slow down as far as doubling goes and I will just go back at 8 weeks for ultrasound. I think if your levels were 23,080 then they are high enough that they probably wont double in 2 days. However, if they are that high I am pretty sure that something should be seen on the ultrasound by now. When will they be doing another ultrasound for you?

My levels were as follows: Actually High not low!!
What does this mean?
On Dec. 21, 2009 HCG was: 23080 mIU/ml
( on the 21 sonogram showed a sac in uterus, nothing in tubes or ovaries)
On Dec. 23, 2009 HCG was: 33104 mIU/ml
( on 23 bloodtest was done, but no sonogram)

aren't these numbers high?
I am so confused!
I am going to the hospital today to get an ultrasound hopefully settling this once and for all.
  Any comments are appreciated!
Thank you,

i also have low progestrone but high hcg levels... i never had this problem b4 . i have 2 healthy boys and had two amazingly healthy pregnancies.. this preg they are watching e bc i was diagnosed in 08 with bi polar and am on a few medications.. at 7weeks 2 days my hcg was 60,000 and progesteron was 10.2.. my hcg levels are doubling but my prog is flucuating. 11-12-10.2.. i had a ultrasound at 7 weeks 3 days at the heart rate was 146 :) it went from 112 at 5 weeks 4 days to 146. everything is measuing great.. i have no idea if i should stress or not about progesterone.. my doctor isnt?? i asked for my prog levels bc i seen them on script they didnt offer it to me.  on mon i will ask if a suppliment is safe.. if it cant hur ti will like to take it just in case.. if this pregnancy is meant to happen it will. i have faith in God. bc i know about it i will take the suppliment to feel more at ease but like i said my doc isnt concerned.. i guess he is happy w/ the ultrasound and the hcg levels  has anyone delivered and had a healthy preg with having low pregesterone?? this is new to me .. im thankful for what i seen on the ultrasound. i pray that all goes well for this pregnancy and if i am able to help w/ taking a suppliment i will but i think if the pregnancy is going to fail to would fail regardless.. my mom thinks we all know to much.. back when r parents had us and our grandparents had them we didnt know all about pregesterone.. i have worried my seld to much.. its in God's hands now.. good luck to everyone.. keep me posted and write me if  u like.. its nice to know we r not alone..

if the doctor saw the sac in your uterus on the sonogram and checked your tubes its not ectopic. it cannot become ectopic later on...if it was in your uterus thats where it'll stay.

What are your hcg and progesterone levels? Did your hcg double by the second test? The actual levels can vary alot:

3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml
Postmenopausal females: <9.5 mIU/ml
* These numbers are just a GUIDELINE-- every woman’s level of hCG can rise differently. It is not necessarily the level that matters but rather the change in the level.

I personally have had low hcg and progesterone levels with both of my pregnancies. The first ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks. I'm still waiting to find out what's going to happen with the second (now a little over 9 weeks), but the odds of it continuing aren't good...

Best of luck to you; I hope everything goes well!
