I am so congested I can't sleep

What do I do? I'm only at 6 weeks but I'm afraid to take anything that could harm my baby. We had a miscarriage three months ago and I am determined to do everything I can to have a healthy baby. My trouble is it's 3:02 in the morning and I can't breathe, not to mention (gross alert) I just blew snot and blood out of my nose. What can I do to get some relief?

Could be pregnancy rhinitis if you've not got a cold!! I had it from 8 weeks til just recently I can breath again (27 weeks)! Constant nose bleeds and congestion was awful. Its because when ur pregnant the vessels in ur nose swell up and are very sensitive so blowing ur nose can cause the vessels to burst and make it bleed. Nose sprays are good but I made my own using just slightly salted water and just suck it up each nostril, worked a treat and my midwife suggested it so its very safe x

Doctors say you shouldn't  intentionally pour water in your nose unless it's saline, for sterile reasons. I had a sinus infection last week I ended up having to get antibiotics, but anyways the doctor said vicks rub is fine to use, I was so clogged up I couldn't even smell the Vicks and that's some potent smelling stuff, the Vicks cleared me up enough that I was able to sleep.. Hope you feel better soon..

You can get from a pharmacy a saline nasal spray...I found it helped my congestion when I was sick. The pharmacist recommended it and as it is simply a salt water solution it is perfectly safe. Cheap too and will help move whatever is blocking your nasal passage

Ive had alot of the same problems and also had a miscarriage before getting pregnant. i made an appointment with my family doctor just to be sure on what medicine i could take. they said regular sudafed NOT sudafed pe or anything else! But the regular is fine to take. and you can take benadryl. i still didnt take it i let my body fight it off but two to three weeks later ended up with bronchitis and was on perscription medicine that was strong enough it.could have hurt the baby but the doctors said they didnt think anything would happen but i needed the medicine because being sick like that stresses the baby
