Pain

Hey ladies. So ive been trying to get ahold of my doc but she hasnt called me back. For the past week and a half i have been getting this random pain in my upper right side of my abdomen. It will be there for like an hour and then go away and this would be about 3 times a day. Well now its getting more frequent and longer. It wakes me up at night and it hurts really bad!! Its like a sharp burning pain. What could it be?

I'm leaning towards gallbladder...I would definately get checked out...if doc hasn't called soon, go to the ER just to be on the safe side.  A gall bladder attack is no joke. My mom had a few and had to have surgery to have hers removed. I remember the pain she was in.  Don't wait too long like she did.  Better safe than sorry.

It most certainly can be gallbladder pain. If it is in the right side, and radiates towards your back. I had this issue 2 years ago, and it started out for an hour... then 2... then 5... and then eventually went to bothering me for 8-10 hours. If it is interfering with sleep as well, certainly tell your doctor. They can do an ultrasound to see if you have galstones. It ended up I had to have emergency surgery to remove my galbladder completely.

I would def. go to get checked out!!  It could just be stretching, but if not you don't want to wait and hold off on something more serious!!!  Keep us posted and let us know how everything goes!!

Thanks ladies. Ive been reading online and it does sound like my gallbladder to me. My boyfriend said that if my doc doesnt call back my the time he gets home in like an hour he wants to take me to the hospital. I dont want to go but I want to know what it wrong. Do you think its a reason to go?

I am with grandmatobe on this one, it certainly sounds like it could be the gall bladder but again only a doctor can tell you this for certain. I had my gall bladder out a couple years ago and the pain you describe is similar to what I felt. They can actually do an U/S to check this out so it is very safe. I don't think it's associated with your kidneys at all as your kidneys are not located in your upper abdomen. Kindney pain is usually felt on the sides of the lower back, not the upper abdomen. Either way, it could be nothing or it could be something. Better safe than sorry. Keep us posted.

That also may be in the kidney area and they may check you for a uti and make sure there's no protein in your urine which would signal pre-eclampsia.  Could also be stretching pains, I guess.  Maybe they will call you back soon and can suggest something based on your symptoms.  Hope you feel better.

I am certainly not a doctor, but I have heard of women who have had trouble with their gallbladder during pregnancy.  It creates a burning pain and nausea/vomiting.  It is certainly a good idea to get it checked out just in case.  I hope the doctor calls back soon.
