Im pretty sure Im pregnant but..

I was just wondering; When exactly will my stomach feel hard or get that ball that everyone raves about in my uterus?
I really cant explain it. My back has been hurting, I've been urinating very frequently. I eat and then Im full, then 10 minutes later I feel I have an empty stomach. I would be around 3 weeks, IF I were to be pregnant.
Can anyone answer my question? :) Or some more information on this would be nice too. Everything and anything is appreciated.

Kiwi, she said that she didn't count the first 2 weeks, so actually she'd be around week 5 now.

SB, let us know what the outcome is okay? We're here to help :)

You can take a test when your period is due, as the others have said. But you won't feel a "hard ball" in your belly until 5-6 months or more depending on your size. A pregnant belly is firm and only truly hard during a contraction. But early pregnancy you still have your regular belly. The uterus is below the pubic bone well before 12 weeks pregnant.

Also pregnancy is dated from your last period.

Oh I see. It's usually easier to at those two weeks though, so everyone is on the same page :) If you're that far in your cycle already you can take a HPT without issues I guess. Wouldn't worry too much about the soreness, if you're close to your period your hormones are probably raging which can cause that. Stressing about these things can also cause your period to show up late, which is totally annoying.

If you have any other questions you can send me a message whenever you want :)

oh no, it wasnt planned at all. just some technical difficulties became involved. and now i feel this way. i woke up this morning feeling like i was going to faint and it wasnt a great feeling at all. my breasts just started getting sore this morning, and i run on a 21 day cycle or less usually. tomorrows my 21st day so im going to take an HPT soon after if i dont have my period. and if it still doesnt come by a normal 28 day cycle, then im taking another one. i mean 3 weeks as in 3 weeks, not 5, though. the first day of my last period was december 18th and it ended the 25th of that month. so we will see, and i will keep you guys updated!
thank you for the comments though!

Hiya,

Oh my you're quite young! Was the pregnancy planned? If you're not pregnant, I suggest you wait a little. I'm 21 and pregnant and struggle to find a comfortable situation for me and my baby. I know having a baby may sound like something awesome, but you have no idea what it takes to even prepare for a baby (I know I didn't, even though I've had tons of experience babysitting and taking care of my baby brother and sisters). Yes, there are girls that make it and turn out to be awesome mothers, but they can't give their kids everything they'd want. Just wait a little until you have more education behind you. Sounds tough, but so is mommyhood!

As for your question: it takes a few months before your uterus has risen high enough for you to feel it. My stomach started getting hard around three months, when my uterus had risen above my pelvic bone. Now, at almost 6 months, the top lining is a little above my navel and I've really popped.

Last thing though: usually pregnancy symptoms don't start to come up until week 6. Of course everyone is different, but what you described sound to me like normal and healthy behavior for someone of your age. Maybe you're having a growth spurt and need the extra food; I had loads of times when I could just eat the whole day through when I was 16. Yes, it does happen when you're pregnant, just not that fast. Have you had any other symptoms, like sore breasts? If I were you I'd wait for your period to come and take it from there. I've had loads of times where I thought I was pregnant and turned out not to be; when finally I did get pregnant, I was convinced I wasn't until the HPT told me different :) Patience!

Well I'm 28 weeks tomorow n my stomach Is still soft at times so I wouldn't go by any of that n you can start to feel your uterous coming above your pubic bone about 12 weeks :), at 3 weeks do u mean 5? Or just 3 cos? They add to weeks on from the first day of your last period?

HI

Your best be would to be to wait and see if you miss your period.  You can take a test up to 4 days before early if you really want to know though Hun.  Good luck but also remember that a baby is a life long commitment and you are only 16 so please do not do anything you may regret later in life.
