Induction

I have 5 days left before my expected due date, but I'm getting induced on Monday night the 22nd (which is 3 days before my due date the 25th)  if I go through with it. I was wondering does it hurt more when it comes to being induced rather than waiting on labor to start on it own?

Going into labor on your own hurts a little more.  When you get induced. You don't feel any pain they start to give you meds when you arrive other than you start having contractions then get meds. The pain really isn't contractions,  it's pushing the baby out that is painful

I have had 2 natural labour's and one induced. Omg let me tell you the natural ones were easy but when I got induced it hurt 10 times worse it goes on for longer and it hurts so bad. I'm currently 19 weeks and will be induced again this time at 37 and I'm dredding it. Due to medical reasons I don't have a choice. All the best xx

I had a natural labor and an induced labor and  it definitely hurts worse when you are induced. When you go in labor naturally the contractions get stronger as the labor progresses but when your induced they come on strong right away. When I was indused the contraction in the beginning of labor (a couple hours in) were as strong as the ones I had right before delivery when I went in labor naturally.

Why are you getting induced?

This  is my second pregnancy and I've been to 4 different prenatal classes through this pregnancy and the one before. I have always been told that induction contractions hurt more, because your body is not prepared for the delivery. Plus, inductions have a higher rate of ending in c section, forceps or ventouse, and episiotomy.

My labor come on naturally and contractions were pretty tolerable

Thanks for you comment....this is my first pregnancy, so I was just wondering because my mom swears it's going to hurt worse rather than if I wait for it to start on it own.

It won't hurt anymore than giving birth and going into labor yourself it can just be a longer process due to the medications of when they start working on your body and how your body reacts it can be up to 48 hours
