Im 34w2d, at 23 weeks I started getting itchy all over too. I tried about 6 different lotions, from cocoa butter to bath and body works. I finally tried eurcine, it doesn't smell as good as most lotions, but its the only kind that worked for me.
Then it is very very important that you go for some tests then...
Thats were it started the palms of my hands and buttom of my foot. Im going to call my dr and make an apt. I can't take the itching anymore. Thanks for the input ladies. Ill keep you guys updated.
I know I'm itchy when my skin is dry. I'm 34wks. I noticed that I am better when i lotion up and make sure to drink lots of water throughout the day.
The liver one is ICP... the itch generally starts in the palms of your hands and the bottoms of your feet for this one(the progresses everywhere)... but its worth questioning your Dr about and inquiring on getting tested to make sure your liver is functioning well... the itch may or may not cause a rash(the rash is from you scratching) also i think one of the signs was lighter colored poops... but this is off the top of my head, it wouldnt hurt to check it out
PUPPPs is usually a rash that starts on you abdomen and spreads from there...
and there are so many reasons for a itching/rashes during pregnancy... our bodies kinda have a mind of their own lol but the ICP is something to rule out...check it out and see if you feel it could be possible and talk to your Dr :) good luck and congrats with your pregnancy!!
I think the liver problem is called either PUPP or HELLP.... the itching does need brought up to your doctor though
My sister was itchy all over she had to be induced she was full term though and it was her liver......
I had that on my first baby it's called the pregnancy itch it felt like I had hives all over and would keep me awake at night itching,I also had to get blood taken to check liver function it can be a sign of liver failure or it can just be the pregnancy itch!
Pregnancy does weird things to your body! It'll dry out and as it stretches it gets worse. Not much you can do.but drink water and stay lotioned
By the way I haven't changed my detergent or lotion either.
