Yes, you can have sex the entire time as long as you are not having bleeding or other problems during your pregnancy. Sex is healthy throughout pregnancy in the normal healthy woman, but you might not be wanting too towards the end there :) I sure don't!!!
And what about sex... can you have sex the entire time, if not when should you stop... should it be gentle bc of the baby?
does any one know where to look for non herbal and herbal tea I just looked on my tea box and it doesn't say anywhere... just says organic!
well I'm not looking forward to that! I'll just put them away when that happens lol! No sushi then, i'll be saying the same thing as you spiket probably after a couple months!
Yes I knew about the litter rule, and I certainly dont mind passing that along to the husband, haha that was one of the first things I said to him. I don't normally take any meds unless needed but I will ensure that my doctors are aware if that comes along!!
Thank you!!
Sushi is definetly off the list! Sorry! Oh, and if you have a cat, no changing the litter box. Just stay away from cat feeces in general. And my dr didn't say so, but my SIL dr said no runny egg yolk, only scrambeled or hard boiled (fully cooked yolks).
Also, be careful of OTC meds. Don't take anything unless necessary or prescribed by a dr. Your dr should give you a list of meds that are ok when you visit.
I don't think the candles will harm you but you might find that your favorite scents all of a sudden make you want to hurl. I had to get rid of all of smell good lotions. You never know.
Most sushi is off the list. You can have cooked low mercury sushi like salmon...but not raw. Nothing raw. I hate that rule too. I told my husband I want a plate of sashimi tuna and a beer after delivery :)
Thank you! I was concerned about the Scented candles and if the artificial scent would do any harm.
Thank you I didn't know that and probably would have had some if I didn't. Sushi is off the list right? =/
I think candles are fine to burn. Most do not have lead in the wicks anymore. If that's something you are concerned about, stick with PartyLite candles - I know they are lead free.
Also, the other ladies gave you great advice. Take it easy on exercise (especially the weights 5-10 lbs should be ok, but not heavy weight lifting). Other foods to avoid include nhot dogs with nitrates and cold lunch meat.
Are candles okay to burn??
Thank you every one for the remarks, It feels better to know some more information!!
Michele, I will def. take a moment today and look at your blog, the more the better!! today I'm going to print of some healthy food receipe's to make! I told the hubby that he's either eatting what I make or eatting what he makes lol I just want a healthy child! Thank you!!!
Congrats first of all!!! Well, I have 6 and going for 7, but that's it!!! Ha ha!!
Anyway, exercising is fine. I personally wouldn't do a lot of jumping but the normal things that your body is used to doing shouldn't be a problem for now. I wouldn't do exercises that target your abs. That isn't recommended so watch any type of those exercises. Once you get further along and bigger, you will need to cut back and probably would do that naturally anyway. There are tons of yoga/exercise DVDs for all stages of pregnancy too if you are interested. Look online to see what you like. I know you can find some of these are Target and I am sure other stores.
As far as what you should eat.....I would just eat what you normally would eat or feel like eating. I get deathly ill the first SEVERAL weeks of pregnancy and can't hold down water, so if you feel like eating, more power to you :) There are certain types of fish that you are supposed to avoid such as Shark, Grouper, certain Tunas, etc. I believe the Albacore Tuna is the Tuna considered high in Mercury, but other Tunas are considered safe in low amounts. I am Catholic and always eat fish during Lent, and have never had any problems with any of my kids. I know there are more but I can't think of them off the top of my head. The reason for this, is that certain fish have high mercury levels in them and this can cause problems for your baby w/ brain development.
Oh, I would def stick to eating things that are high in fiber because constipation is very normal during pregnancy during all phases. Yay on that one!!!
One to 2 cups of coffee per day is considered safe. If you drink more than that, I'd suggest getting decaf. I'd also make sure to get in plenty of other healthy drinks during the day like a smoothie, juices, milk, water, etc. Just by eating lots of fruits and veggies, you will be getting in quite a bit of water, which many people don't realize.
I have a blog that I started several months ago. I haven't kept up with it since like June, but I covered A LOT of pregnancy topics on it. You can look in the archives of it and there will be TONS of information. I think you might find it very helpful. I think I can post the name here. If it stars it out and you want it, just PM me and I will give you the info. It is http://momofmany-familykidsandchaos.blogspot.com. I used to work really hard on this but just seemed to run out of time once summer time came. Now I am homeschooling my kids and just don't have time either. BUT when I started it, I started strong and there is lots of good info. on it.
Again, congrats!!!
congratulations!!! its such a beautiful thing. its my first too but im way ahead of u. im 5 months pregnant but it feels like it was yesterday when i took the pregnancy test in my bathroom... lol
9 months might sound like forever but trust me they go by really fast. enjoy every minute of it!
In terms of weight you will gain 25-35 pounds. Just eat 3 times a day or 6 small meals a day. I was also told I could do any exercise I did before, but to take it more easy and keep very hydrated. You can have 300 mg of caffeine a day, which I think equals two cups of coffee. For stress, just do what calms you. All women are different. I used music, reading, knitting, drawing and baths. Others might clean, some sing, some go out with friends, and some walk. Good luck!
great!!! I will def. talk with my doctor to be sure but it is good to hear! i love exercising so I'd probably pull my hair out if I couldn't. thank you for the feed back!!
When I first found out I was pregnant I was an avid runner & took a cycling class as well. (and do again now) My dr told me any exercise I did before I was pregnant was okay to still do and as my pregnancy went on I cut back on the intensity. Def no more ab work outs. Go with what feels comfortable for your body. I cut out running at about 6 months and started walking instead, yoga and swimming. Swimming was the best bc your so light in the water! I also did a warm water aerobics class. But ask all these questions to your dr bc every person is different. But exercise it awesome for you while your pregnant. Also light weight training is good but nothing that makes you strain! Pretty much you just have to decrease the intensity of your normal routine.
Congrats!!! wow 5!!! this will be my 1st, if you couldn't tell by my post lol.
Thank you for the remarks, big thighs run in my family thats why I fear eatting anything fatting because I know it is in my blood to get them lol!!
Yes I wouldn't thin that jumping up and down would not be good I was just hoping that the intensity of the spinning would be okay =)
Thankyou!!
Congrats on your BFP!!! Have a healthy and happy 9 months!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi! We're must be due very close to each other-- I'm due June 15-- and my first appt is Nov. 15th. I agree--- feels like forever away!!
This is baby #5 for me, so I can answer some of your questions, LOL. Also, look for the June 2011 babies group to join!
Basically, if you are a pretty healthy eater, you can eat what you've always eaten . That along with prenatal vitamins will take care of your baby. You may need to add a small meal or a few healthy snacks to make sure you're getting enough.
Not too sure about the exercise-- cycling and weight-lifting should be fine. But anything aerobic that involves jumping, etc would make me nervous. I've been doing "Hip-Hop Abs" and I'm not gonna do that any more!
I never gave up coffee, just cut back.
Don't stress about anything! Try to enjoy every moment. =) It feels slow at the time, but goes super fast. Read as much as possible about pregnancy and birth, especially from other women's experiences. Best wishes!
