But this is my first pregnancy and I have no clue what a mucus plug is? I know I may seem dumb but I really haven't ever heard of it until I got this app and people talk about it. And I'm sitting here clueless...:/

Yuck! I didn't realize so much yuck came along with pregnancy!  Sick all the time and peeing. But it'll all be worth it in the end (:

And it's a huge glob of mucus.. You could lose it as a whole or in pieces.. But when you lose it you'll know! Lol.. There's an insane amount in there!

It plugs the cervix to keep out bacteria. Comes out near labor or at start of labor. It could have blood but some women lose it without blood and it looks like a thick loogie that was hocked up. (Sorry tmi- best way to describe though)

I never heard of it either before my pregnancy. Its a "plug" to help seal the baby from bacteria and to seal off your cervix. When your cervix widens it comes out also called a "bloody show"
