Labor story!

It's a few days late but!!

I came in Wednesday night at 6pm to be induced. My first dose of cytotec was at 7pm. Everything was going well, I had been having irregular contractions that slowly became normal about 7-10 mins apart. 4 hours later I got my second dose of cytotec and became 50% effaced 3cm dilated with contractions 5-7 mins apart and declared in active labor.

The doctor tried breaking my water because of how well I was doing but my cervix was too high still so she decided to try later and instead called for my epidural because she anticipated by morning I'd give birth. I'll say the epidural hurt at first because I couldn't arch my back, the pressure between my vertebrae was bad and my fiancé fainted watching!! I was so distracted that by the time lover was up, my epi was all done and I felt nothing!

Let me tell you after that the epidural is your bestie! I felt amazing! So they started my pitocin drip and Thursday at 6am my doctor came back and checked me. I was 5cm 100% effaced and she dropped -2 position which was enough to break my water. Sadly she did poo in utero but doc assured me she would be safe. Things got hard however.. my epidural wore off 4 times on my right side so they repeatedly dosed me with epi into my IV and a sedative that made me so sleepy. My labor stopped also so contractions that were 2-3 mins apart stopped completely and they upped my pitocin repeatedly. I'd been in active labor 27 hours, my bp was high and stress became dangerous. At 7cm I was making no progress for 8 hours. So at 7am I was rushed in for an emergency csection. I don't remember much because I kept fainting.. I felt nothing, but remember her first cries and how beautiful she was when they pulled her out. She was born 11/14/14 8lbs 15 ounces 19 and a half inches long at 7:22 am!!!
