Ladies I need advice; Baby has kidney dilated

Hi ladies,  I need advice I'm currently 22 weeks and at my doctors appointment my doctor told me that my babies kindey are dilate the left is at 9.5 and the right at 4.8 (the appointment before this one only the left kindey was dilated to 5.8) my doctor keeps telling me not to worry that it should go away but then he also said that on my next appointment if it's still dilated then he's gonna have to do something. Should I go to a specialist that deal with the kindey problems or just wait until my next appointment? I'm honestly really worried.

My sons kidney was also dilated.  I spent a lot of money on specialists just to find out that they wouldn't do anything until after his birth anyways. It turns out that dilated kidneys are very common with male babies and usually correct itself after birth.  If it remains dilated they have an increased risk of urinary tract infections and if its really severe may need a stent in the ureter but I highly douvt that!  I'm sure your baby will be perfect just like mine!

My son has dilated kidneys when I was 20 weeks the doctor noticed and it never fixed. So when he was born he needed an ultrasound they looked and both were still dilated and his were both severe. He had to get a test done to see if it was a reflux. There is a tiny flap that prevents urine from going back into the kidneys and sometimes it opens and pushes urine back into the kidneys which he didn't have. So now we are waiting my son is 19 months old right now and one kidney has completely fixes itself and the other is only a mild case. Usually they wait it out to see if it will correct itself. My son is a very happy healthy kid and isn't in any pain.
