Leep surgery and pregnancy

Ladies is leep surgery dangerous if you could be preg at the time of surgery found out two days ago I ovulated and did have intercorse but my surgery is booked for 7 days time could this effect if I was preg at the time of surgery?

Hey I totally understand I had high grade squ interepithal Cells (one step below onset cancer) and I had to have over 75% of my cervix removed. I don't think that you need to reschedule and if you do find out that you are pregnant then they will probably but stitches in your cervix to keep it closed. Every time I go to the doctor they have to check my cervix to make sure it is closed and long and if need be I will have to get stitches too. I figure a few stitches are worth keeping the baby in for awhile longer =) Try not to worry too much about it I am sure that it will be fine =) You also might want to ask your doctor about clomid or something to help you ovulate after you heal from the LEEP if you don't get pregnant this cycle. I had the same problem and ended up seeing a fertility specialist and 8 months later I was pregnant. There is hope honey!

Thanks, well dr says it's urgent and I am on public waiting list so can't reschedule... I am guessing if all I have been told is leep that I won't have my uterus scrapped too? Both my friends had theirs done at the same time? That's what I was worried about.... I am worried now... I should call my gyn? My partner said, too bad if u are u need this surgery!! :( feelin very blue! Been ttc now for well over 7 months and haven't ovulated more then twice in past ten months... Cin2 high grade cells for Going on two years now! :'(

I had a LEEP surgery done last year while TTC (I wasn't pregnant at the time) and most doctors will put it off until a pregnancy test is done. I would definitely consider talking to your doctor about postponing the surgery until after a blood test is done.

my friend had the leep procedure done about 7 days after ovulation, she didnt think anything of it and by chance had a blood draw a few months latter and found out she was 16 weeks pregnant, her doc said the embryo would have been traveling down the tube when she had the procedure, and that she prob would not have fallen preg with out it

I would reschedule for a week past your scheduled appointment so you will know for sure by then. Do you know how bad your cells are, ascus, low grade or high grade? Leep can weaken your cervix but I know there are some women that have had it done and never had a problem.
