Stripped Membranes?

I had an appointment today with my ob/midwife and she stripped my membranes "as well as she could" because I am only 1cm dilated and not thinned at all. I wasn't planning on letting her do that, but I'm anxious to go into labor. When she pulled her glove out (TMI) there was some white stuff, kind of curdy looking (gross I know) and she asked if I had been itchy. She thinks it may be a yeast infection, but I haven't had any symptoms of one. Could it also be just regular discharge? I hadn't had any of that before she stripped me, but when I got home there was some more in my panty liner. Could it be the start of losing my plug? I also didn't spot when she checked me, I never do. I have been cramping off and on though since my appointment and have had a few contractions, but I'm not totally sure they're regular at the moment. Just wondering what you guys think because I'm really hoping that I go into labor tonight, but it seems that since I was only a 1 that it isn't very likely. What do you think?

Extremely common, especially when pregnant. It's nothing harmful, you just take stuff to clear it up. They are spread by sex though so avoid it until you know for sure.

Because you had a sweep done its very possible that's what's causing you to feel off - its a gentle form of induction and can take awhile before it causes anything really noticeable. Try walking and drinking water to see if it helps. If it doesn't, and you still feel the same in a few hours I'd get checked out.

Well darn. That's gross lol. Are yeast infections pretty common?? Dangerous for baby? I think im contracting too by the way. I just noticed my belly is oddly shaped and feels low. still cramping a bit. Kind of worried that somethings going on that I'm unaware of. Just haven't felt normal since I left.

I totally missed the curdy part - I agree, it sounds like a yeast.

It sounds like a yeast infection to me. The mucus plug looks like snot, not like curds or cottage cheese. As for going into labor, if its going to work it can take up to 48 hours.

It's so hard to say. Personally it doesn't sound like your plug, rather just discharge. Walk!!! It doesn't matter how dilated you are it can rapidly change.
