Mirena iud

It worries me that Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals say the Mirena "...is appropriate for.......mutually monogamous relationship,......." Why is that?

"According to Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals, the manufacturer of Mirena, this IUD is appropriate for women who have had at least 1 child, who are in a stable, mutually monogamous relationship, and have no risk or history of ectopic pregnancy or pelvic inflammatory disease."

Sounds a lot like the side effects of the Mirena to me. It seems to be hit or miss with it. Women either hate it or love it. How long have you had it in place for?

I personally have not had an IUD but a friend of mine did, the first one ended up falling out, and the second one ended up causing her nothing but problems and pain and when they went to remove it the almost couldn't get it out...I strongly advise against it.There are many other forms or birth control that don't have the risks that the IUD seems to have...That is my own personal opinion tho...

I really don't think its good for anything, I think its an evil tool that can cause early menopause, depression, divorce, cysts on ovaries and so so much more. I had it for 3 years and I would strongly advise women against it.

Because if neither parter is sleeping around or switxhing relationships every once in a while then there is a chance you can come in contact with an STD. IUDs are not a recommended form of birth control for people that have them. Hence why they say for use in a monogamous relationship.
