Mucous Plug

I was just wondering when you ladies lost your mucous plug, how soon after labour kicked in, if at all. I am 39weeks tomorrow and lost my mucous plug this morning (sorry for tmi!) My girlfriend lost hers and was in labour within 24hrs. She lost hers at 39w3d. Anywho, just looking for any stories or thoughts :)

i  lost my plug and went into labor by the next day with my first and 3rd one. i always did nesting (cleaning around the house major cleaning). and that is how i always knew my baby was coming very soon.

yeah im having the same problem, in 2 more days i will be 39 weeks and im having some bloody discharge and little chunks here and there as well, i called the doctors and they said everything is fine, and if i start having contractions or my water breaks to head to the hospital. its weird though, because when i went to the doctors on the 6th of October, he checked my cervix and said i was 2cm dilated already. the weird thing is, is that i havent felt any contractions or anything like that and now im bleeding....hmmm...baby soon? originally due date was Nov 1st

it was red and brown. so i hope that means something... i dunno. i didnt lose mine with my son so this is all new to me. lol

thanks, sweetie. am trying to hold him in at least till 34 weeks ( similar odds of survival as a full term baby then. hope you go in labour soon too...was it red blood in your plug?

Thanks ladies! I hope I go into labour quickly! I am so ready to meet our little girl. I guess either way it will happen soon! :)

usually, a plug with red blood indicates an imminent labour. not the case with me here though, been losing my plug for 3/4 days. think i'm almost done. most women will go in labour within 2 weeks of losing their plug. sure hope i don't...am only 31 weeks and 5 days

I lost mine when I was in labor.  Other people lose it weeks before going into labor.  It is different for everyone, but you are so close anyway, that you will probably go into labor soon.

I lost mine and went into labor that night. My water always breaks soon after though so do some cleaning and some walking! It worked for me!

I had the bloody show at 36 weeks. (mucus that had blood in it and was also having some slight bleeding when I would wipe) I was losing mine little by little. I went into labor not quite 2 weeks later. You are just about there!!
