My Beta Results

I just received my beta results.  My HCG levels are 972.  My progesterone levels are 23.8.  So, according to the nurse, everything looks great.  (Pinch me because I MUST be dreaming!!!)

The nurse explained that HCG ranges are so large, that 972 doesn't tell her much.  If she had to guess, she would say I'm 5-6 weeks pregnant.  I have an ultrasound scheduled for next week where hopefully the heartbeat will be heard.  But if it's not, the nurse said I may just not be as far along as she thought.

So, can anyone give me insight about your HCG results?  Does 972 tell you guys anything?

You can just call and tell them you want another blood draw for Wednesday if you want another one!  They should be fine with it.  I know with my pregnancy last summer they were willing to do as many draws as I wanted.  Sometimes I think the nurses just assume most people are experienced at this and know what they want.  I just tell them what I want to do or what I am comfortable with!!

mlb1234,

I also thought they would suggest another beta on Wednesday, but they didn't even bring it up.  I'm not sure if that's because I'm not doing a medicated cycle this time around?  She just told me to schedule my ultrasound, and that was it.  Kind of weird actually.

The level is not that important but 972 sounds excellent to me!!!!!!!!  With my daughter I think it was only 142 at about 5 weeks and all was fine.  But I am wondering why they aren't running another beta on Wednesday?  Usually they do two betas two days apart and see if it doubles.  If it does then you are definitely on the right track.  The doubling is what is important.  (Maybe you are paying out of pocket and if so I understand just waiting??)  Best of luck - I think one was written in the stars for you!! I am so happy for you!!

Thanks guys.  :-D

I'm going to try and take a relaxed approach to this.  I obsessed about TTC and it got me no where.  I SO hate the cliche relax and it will happen, but that's exactly what happened in my case.

I truly believe that this outcome is out of my control, and I hope I am able to trust in God's plan for my life.

You women are the best!

Holy ****! 5122 at 5 weeks.  Now I feel like 972 is too low.  But the nurse said it's good, so I guess I have to go off of that.  Gosh - this is all so stressful! ;-)

I did NOT see the heartbeat until 7 weeks. Just try and remember that you may not and **try** to stay optimistic! I know thats tough, but its all you can do!

And is 6 weeks when they can usually see the heartbeat?  I just want to save myself heartache by doing the ultrasound too early.  But if my levels are 972, you'd think I would at least be 5 weeks, right?
