My Labor Story 7/30/15 must read
so I was due July 28th or the 31st I had two due dates I was getting very impatient being pregnant with my second child but my first girl so at my 39 week check up which was Friday I had my membranes stripped it felt uncomfortable but bearable the next day part of my mucus plug came out and by Sunday it all came out it was clear gooey then brownish snot like so I kept walking and still nothing no contractions or anything Monday I had a stress test done I was 2cms and 80 perfect effaced . So yesterday I was on this app and read about castor oil even though my doctor recommended it weeks ago it didn't work so I said it wouldn't hurt to try it again around 7-8 pm yesterday I had 2 tablespoons w/ baby powder it help get that oily taste out my mouth then I washed it down with orange juice I took a hot shower and went to bed because I was planning on going to work at midnight but I had lightening pains all through out the night and kept feeling my baby ball up just as I normally do not know those are consider contractions so I got up at 4:30 this am and got dressed for work I had to be there at 5 but instead I drove myself to my bd house because I was having cramps every 2 mins he took 8 mins to come outside so his mom hopped in my car and drove me 2-3 blocks to the hospital because I could no longer operate my car I was in too much pain out of no where I never had consistent contractions or anything he arrived at the hospital 10 mins after me I was dilated 2 8cms already and was too late for drugs so I had to deal with contractions coming every 90 seconds for 40 mins I told my doctor I feel like I'm about to shyt myself she checked me about 6 times and finally said your at 10 she tried to break the bed down with the other nurses but I yell her she comes and sure enough with one push her head came out and my water broke blood and water went everywhere on my doctor the nurses and my child's father got scared the doctor yelled out her legs all the way back this baby is coming 2 pushes later she was on my chest I felt like I was stung by 30 bees in my kitty cat I felt my hole open I felt like I died I ripped and had to get 3-5 stitches but she is heathy she was 7 pounds 7 ounces and 19 inches long ! She was out by 6:13 am but the point of my post is if something feels abnormal with your body weather it's back pain , cramps, the baby balling up even if it's not consistent you might be in labor I didn't even feel contractions into I got in my car at 4:50 and things went fast from there so even if the doctor is well educated don't let them tell you about your body who knows you better than you? Congratulations! I've been hearing more and more labor stories similar to yours (not even recognizing labor pains/not having steady contractions until a hr or so before delivery). Glad you made it to the hospital safe and you and your little one are ok:)
Congrats, sounds like an easy labour, lucky you! Ladies please don't go based off her experience with the castor oil, it does not work for everyone and I've read horrible stories about it as well.
I had corn starch baby powder it help kill the taste of the castor oil which is like swallowing cooking oil then the Orange juice helped me clear my bowels so I wouldn't go during delivery. The castor oil help with contractions and to open my cervix but I wouldn't recommend it if you aren't close to a hospital because it speeds up delivery I went from 2 to 8 cms in the matter of hours with no pain and once the pain came I was about ready to push

Yea that's what I say always listen to your body even if a doctor or test w.e says something else with this pregnancy I kept getting a no on my pregnancy test and at the doctors office but I knew my body and knew I was pregnant and something wasn't adding up and thank god I listened to my body and was doing all the right things I should do even without confirmation by the time I found out I was pregnant I was a week away from my second trimester congrats on your baby I can't wait to see my baby in 4 weeks
