My Very Long Labor Story...Finally :) FTM

July 27th
(39 weeks) at 8pm my husband and I went to the hospital and got put on Cervidil at 9 pm since I was only 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. By 10 pm my contractions were 5-7 minutes apart and lasted all night long and no I did not know I even had them until I seen it on paper.
July 28th
At 7 am the nurse took out the Cervidil and it did soften my cervix so at 8 am my doctor hooked me up to the Pitocin. By 10 am my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart and more regular. At 11:40 my doctor came and broke my water! It gushed out like a waterfall every where haha!! And for you first time moms...it doesn't stop leaking until after baby is born. After she broke my water the contractions became extremely painful and very difficult to breath through. I had no problem with the pain until this point. By 3 pm I starting having killer pain in the vaginal area thinking it was contractions but it wasnt. My contractions were 1-2 minutes apart but by 3:45 pm I had to get my epidural at only 2 cm dilated come to find out I stopped progressing and the awful pain was my baby boys head down in a wrong angle. The Epidural made me extremely itchy but it made the pain disappear in seconds and I was able to take a nap. At 7 pm I was 3 cm dilated and my cervix moved down a bit. By 9 pm my Epidural wore off and they kept trying to up it but Epidural no longer worked on me. At 9:20 pm I was rushed to get a c-section and the beginning was rough because they gave me the numbing stuff 8 times within minutes and it did not work so finally they did 2 different shots in my spine and it worked! I didn't feel a thing and before I knew it I heard my baby boy and me and my husband broke down in tears! Aiden got to go with his daddy for an hour and a half while I got 15 staples and an hour of recovery time. He latched right on to breastfeed so that was great!!! Aiden was born at 9:36 pm weighing 8 lbs 14 oz and 21.5 inches long. He has lots of brown hair and blue eyes and looks like his daddy's twin :) he was so worth every second of pain I endured! So beautiful and perfect in every way! The next day though he was taken to NICU because his blood sugar level was down to 28 and they wanted it above 45. I was back and forth between getting my meds and my assessments and feeding him every 3 hours and pumping for 20 minutes after that and constantly checking his blood. And he was such a little champ and hasn't cried at all and all the nurses were so in love with him! We finally got to come home at 3 pm today and we are just enjoying each other and the peace and quiet :) it was such a crazy journey but nothing beats the love I have for my Lil family. I would do it again in a heartbeat and the Induction and c-section were really not that bad and nothing to be scared of. I had an incredible experience and I wish the rest of you ladies the best!!!!
