NICU

So the closer I come to my due date the more bummed out I am that my daughter is going to spend about a month in the hospital before we can take her home. I'm jealous of others who get their babies in a week or even sooner...

My daughter was born preamature at 32 weeks and spent 3 months in the nicu , I was always there but sometimes it was just hard . I never felt like she was 100% mine because she was tangled in all these wires .
The day I finally held her without any wires or machines stuck to her I cried like a baby , that's the day I really felt like I finally got my baby . Thank god !!!
God bless u and I wish u good luck

She's going to be staying because she has gastroschisis. Part of the abdominal wall didn't form so part of her bowels are protruding. So she'll go into surgery right away. I'm thankful for so many things though. She's very healthy, and I will get induced at full term 37 weeks, and her case is mild to moderate. Its just hard because I'm so excited for her arrival but I can't take her right away! But I know me and my boyfriend will be with her as often as possible and the hospital were going to is incredible and everyone is so nice. But its still a hard thought. I appreciate your kind words.

I am really sorry about your babys nicu stay. I know how that feels to be in the maturnity ward and you see all these women with there babies and yours is sitting in an incubater with wired and tubes and it *****.but if I could go navm in time; I would have bonded more with the other moms in nicu and I deff would have had pictures taken. I know its a hard time and at the time you feel like you Dont want that but I wish I had more pictures. also, I wish I would have kept a journal and just written his progress in it and how I felt I would give anything to go back and read how I was feeling even though it would be hard to write. I only have a few pictures of him in nicu and his cpap mask, then finally I have his oxygen cord thing and when they finally cut it BC he didn't need it anymore. that's the most special thing to me. I wish you luck and I know its hard, it ***** but babies are so tough and there mommies are even more tough. Try to learn as much ad you can, nicu taught be so many things about babies!! good luck girl

That's sad, it always is to have a small child in the hospital. I hope thing go well for you and baby. I know how you feel my daughter was very ill at two and was in and out of the hospital for three almost four years. She was in more than out, like a week in and a day or two out then back in again. I got my feel of the hospital and had my last one at a birthing center and took her home a few hrs after delivery, I plan to do the same for this one. Midwife and everyone says I won't make it to full term and that makes me sad because I will be facing having him in nicu for a while instead of bringing him home same day. I really do hope things go well facing nicu or icu for a child is scary and not easier once there.
