Natural or Epidural?

Has anyone had both? Which did you like better? I went all natural with my first and I'm not sure what to do with my second because everyone says getting an epidural hurts really bad and can cause problems with your body in the long run and that labor takes a lot longer and I'm very impatient. It only took me 15 mins to push out my first and was only in active labor for 2 hours and I thought that was long

Also. I was induced and had my son 7 hours later and pushed for 10 minutes. The epidural actually made my labor speed up rapidally. Its different for everyone. I had a huge baby and tore very bad. Can't imagine doing that natural

Just add what you can do! I got the epidural and I'm so glad I did. It hurt less than getting the IV put in and I was able to actually enjoy some of my labor. I would say don't set your mind in either. Go as long as you can without and if you decide to get it its no big deal!

Hopefully that's the same for me and I don't tear this time then lol and like I said going natural really wasn't so bad it was just the stitching after so if you wanna go all natural then you go for it. I definitely have to say I felt all powerful after I went natural like I could take on the world lol

Can they use local anesthesia for that like a numbing for that area?

Thank you. I'm definitely leaning toward natural again because I liked being able to use my body after like you said..the only thing I'm worried about is getting stitched up after because it honestly hurt more than labor and that's the only thing I would want the epidural for

I had with 3 epidurals with my firsts 3 births. My last birth I didn't get an an epidural due to having a fast delivery in the car. I'm so happy I got experience birthing with pain medication. It was the most beautiful thing I've hands down ever experienced in all my life. I'm now pregnant with my 5th baby, we're due February 6th!!:) I'm totally going natural. I know now beyond a doubt that I can not only do it but I will feel better after birth and I get to fully enjoy the experience. I wish I went natural with the first 3 labors but I was so scared at the time and I doubted myself. I thought the pain would just get worse and worse. It doesn't. The pain only gets so bad. Baby comes out and all of a sudden its gone and you feel every muscle in your body relax. It's so hard to describe. It's just beautiful. Plus the epidural makes you feel weak and off physically for the next few days after birth. I hate the epidural honestly. I felt so full of energy and like k could take on the world when I went natural. My advice would be to go natural. We truly are made to do this. Our bodies as women are amazing.
