I'm a ftm and I'm going to go all natural, my mom did it four times & I want to be able to experience it to the fullest, plus we were meant to be able to. Aside from being extremely nervous & dreading the pain, I'm looking forward to it. :)
I'm getting the walking epidural, last 2-3 hrs and the amniocentesis if he has to cut me
The epidural always causes permanent back pain, or just sometimes?
Hi I'm having my second child I personally don't recommend drugs it results permanent back pain my mother's experience I had my baby girl naturally yes it does hurt but my as well at the moment than having permanent back pain now she is 4 yrs old and really excited to become a sister but good luck sweety
It's best to give birth naturally cuz the epidural leave u with forever back pain with my first I had it cuz he was in danger I went natural with my second and planing to the same with this one and I didn't used pacifier for none n not planing on breastfed is the best set ur heart to do it n u will my dear stay positive
What I'm trying to stay focused on is the our body know's what to do and when to do it. We were made for this. More of a mind thing. I want to go natural and breastfeed but of course whatever needs to happen will happen.
My husband and I finally decided where we will have our baby. We decided on a birth center which means no pain meds. They have an awesome medical grade birthing tub that I'm looking forward to using. They also have a doula there for you and at each visit you get a session with either their massage therapist or accupuncturist. We will also be exclusively breast feeding and when it comes time to add in food, we will be making our own.
@KTowne I wasn't forsure. It was just something my breastfeeding instructor told me, lol.
@lasheinate that's a little funny. the birth control part. But I think that's also a good thing lol. :) And I'm trying to do a lot of walking myself, lol. Mainley so it's easier after birth for me to get back into walking and excercising. I also heard it does help with giving birth, a loooooooot.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one out there scared about it and wanting a natural birth. It's nice knowing you're not the only one out there. :) Thank you everyone for you input. Good luck in any choice you make, lol. :) Congrats on your pregnancy's. :)
@mizy_g are you going natural again?? :)
i went all natural contractions were annoying but pushing hurt! lol id take contraction anytime i was only in labor for three hours though im a lucky one and had her in three pushes :) not that bad if birth is that fast this was my first bab too
With my first child I went natural. But I did alot of walking during the pregnancy and when it was time to give birth it only took 3hrs and 3 pushes . There are many risks that come along with having pain meds so I didn't want to chance it. Even now with the second baby I am not going for pain medication. I don't want to deal with extra problems. But I didnt tear or anything. So if this is the first time around I would go natural and experience the birth the whole way out. To me it was birtg control and I didnt get pregnant again until my daughter was 7.
I want to go all natural... Thats what my mom did so i wan try doing it all myself... Were built to have children but like other ladies say once you at that moment your body will let you kbow what you need... An regardles as i see it the main point is getting that baby out safetly... So good luck
@MK I'm definitely nervous and scared! I have a high pain tolerance but don't think I could every prepare myself for birth ya know? My boyfriend is super supportive and can't wait to catch her when she comes out :)
@BabyTurnip I'm allergic to morphine and another drug that we aren't sure of. They pain meds they offer are mixed together like a cocktail apparently, and the only reason we don't know exactly which one I'm allergic too us because the last time I had it it was also in'cocktail' form when I had my wisdom teeth removed surgically. They said they won't risk a reaction during labor. I just hope with all my hearty I won't need a c section since that will certainly complicate things!
and also i exclusively breastfeed.. pacifiers can cause nipple confusion, especially within the first month, i tried one on my daughter and she wouldn't take them, but they have been proven to reduce the risk of sids, it's on the american sudden infant death institute's website.
let me just say, if you have no pain medication before the catheter.. it friggen hurts hahah
Keep an open mind. I wanted an all natural birth but circumstances change things. I got the epidural and I ended up with an emergency c section.
Went all natural and plan on doing the same with this one.
I just got done watching videos of natural childbirth without meds on YouTube, and now I'm a little scared... It's just hard for me to imagine I am going to go through childbirth! Ahh!
The medicine I'm going to get is called Nubain. It goes directly into the iv line. That's my plan anyways, if I have to get a csection then ill have to be put under full anesthesia.
I have issues with the bones in my spine from a car accident when i was younger. And I can get some pain meds through the iv line it just curbs the pain. Plus I want to feel me giving birth and not be numb.
No not even. Compare it to contractions. Or even getting a needle in your back.
Does it hurt when they insert the catheter?
Its kind of nice not having to go pee lol i can not even imagine having to pee with painful contractions!
Nothing...the catheter gets inserted in your urethra and when your bladder needs to empty the catheter drains automatically.
Oh wow so if you need to go restroom what would they do?
