Don't let them induce you. I went into labor by myself but they gave me pitocin to make it go along a little faster and I ended up with a c section and my sons heart rate was dipping like crazy and even worse when my water broke. If you can handle waiting, I'd wait.

I would wait longer if you could but the answer to your question is yes it is safe if you doc insists on inducing you the 24th. You are considered full term at 39 weeks. I was induced at 39 weeks when I had my son and he was born 100% healthy after only 13 hrs of labor.

If you're not overdue then I would wait it out for as long as you can.

I had a vaginal delivery with my daughter when they induced me. Everyone I know that has been induced has had a vaginal and not a c section. I never dilated with my daughter. I went into full blown labor with her but didn't dilate so I was given patocin to help and it did. Yes it hurt like crazy but it was worth seeing her. In the city where I am having my 2nd it doesn't matter if it's the holidays or not one of the clinics doctors will be at the hospital. My clinic does rotations. Each doctor takes a turn who is going to be there that day. So if I get induced or not there is going to be a doctor there and they are going to be trying to get off work by inducing me and doing it the day before or after.

I would tell your doctor you would like to wait. If you haven't gone into labor yet, your little one may need a couple more days. Plus inducing can be a long process, so try naturally doing it before have a doctor do it.

Don't let them induce you if there is no need. Your OB just wants Christmas off. Trust me. I'm a nurse. I don't work in L&D but I have friends who do n some of these OB's are very selfish when it comes to their golf games or holidays or someone's birthday. I'm not saying they're all this way but even when I was a student years ago and doing my rotation in L&D, I heard some excuses n seen things that happened because the OB's had something to do or somewhere they wanted to be for whatever reason

I'm due the 26th. I have a doctor app the 23rd. I'm telling him to induce me. I am done with pregnancy. I hurt and I'm miserable. I was induced with my daughter because my body wouldn't dilate. It's happening again this time. I hurt but no dilation and no effacement. I'm asking to have a membrane sweep wednesday and if it doest work I'm asking to be induced the first day they will do it. As long as your at least 39 weeks there is no problem with being induced.

Yea cause he dnt have a medical reason he just wants to induce it just to do it but i will refuse it

I would refuse if it were me. Inducing drastically increases your chances of having a c section. Unless you are 2 weeks overdo or have some medical reason I wouldn't do it.

Unless he gives you a medical reason then deny it. He may not be around to deliver you is probably his reasoning.
