So I've decided to take castor oil. I'm 39+2 and am so uncomfortable and sick.. My question is, what kind do I get and how much do I take? I heard mixing it with orange juice is best. Please no negativity, I've been crying all day from this pain and stress.

You two are definitely boosting my hopes! :) I'm only 5 days away from my due date. I wouldn't be trying to rush it if I didn't just come down with the flu on top of it all! I'm only 4'11 my body can only handle so much

This thread was likely too cause negative comments as it's a controversial subject a lot of midwives and doctors advise against it because the baby can excrete inside you, and as my child did excrete inside me and had to be resuscitated after not breathing for 4-5 minutes shows the effects of what can happen if they do poop inside you, I didn't take castor oil due to knowing what could happen and unfortunately my child still done it but that was down to her being stressed, although I don't agree with it,the decision is down to the mother to take it,

When u take it are u more then likely to poop on yourself while giving birth? Curious.  I wanna try but don't wanna go in labor and I'm just ******** on myself Lol

I took it with my first never again it made everything more difficult had to have extra nurses in the room because of it.

Yes I took it. 4tbs with orange juice. I took it about 4 hours ago and starting getting crampy like an hour after now 4 hours after, I'm pooping lol we'll see how it goes from here

I took it with my daughter 5 yrs ago and it worked great. I took a glass of orange juice and 2 tbsp of castor oil and mixed it. It floated to the top so I drank it quick and it was awful! I'm 35 weeks right now and plan on taking it when I hit 38 weeks. I have hurt, been sick, and swollen long enough lol. Giving my boy 3 more weeks then taking it.

That's what I had my husband do last pregnancy lol I took it at 1 in the morning. Not such a good choice but I did. Then I had diarrhea for about an hour, drank lots of water and went to bed. I woke up at 8:16 am in the morning with strong contractions. I had my baby at 9:42 am. Labor was short for me.

I went and bought Castor oil stimulant laxative lolread the label and make sure your getting it from the laxatives area I. The store like by the vitamins and Band-Aids and stuff

I took 2 tablespoons if it with my last pregnancy and drank juice and water afterwards and it did cause me to have contractions with little diarrhea. Unfortunately my son still didn't want to arrive so I was sent home. I had a c-section 3 days later. Now I'm 3 days away from another c-section. Hope it works for you!
