Nothing is working...

Earlier I asked for home rememdies to help with constipation. I've tried a warm bath with orange oil, eating oranges, cheerios, kix, fiber one bars, raw carrots, eggs, a ton of water, prunes and it seems like NOTHING is helping me. If anything I'm even more uncomfortable now than I was earlier this morning. Does anyone else have any suggestions? I'm trying natural/food remedies before I resort to medicines. I also called my doctor and she was of no help, basically telling me to do what I've been doing all day.

Hot tea? You said you can't have caffeine but a cappuccino or coffee with milk in it goes right through me lol

Ive been a caregiver for 12 years and what I learned when I worked in the hospital from the nurses was to get a small glass of prune juice with butter and warm it up you will definitely go. It always works! Then start taking a stool softener daily.

I have the same problem and I'll be 38 weeks on Thursday and I did the same thing you are doing now and NOTHING worked even went to the hospital because I couldn't take the pain and being so uncomfortable they called my OBGYN and she recommend it for me to take a store softener called milk of magnesia after taking it I woke up out my sleep at 6 in the morning and ran to the bathroom (TMI) so you should probably try that it really works!

Prune juice? Have ya tried that yet? Lots of water, too as it is a natural laxative. Lots of fruit and veggies and if  push comes to shove, use a stool softener...I have colace and I try to take it at least every other day. Whatever you do, do not strain! I made that mistake and I now have a hemorrhoid... :\ it *****.

Honestly my advice would be to take Phillips stool softener its what I take because you dont want to end up with a hemorrhoid like I did. As for natural remedies idk hun.

I know it sounds strange and it works great for kids so maybe it will work for you too.... a glass of milk with a little bit of kro syrup.... I had to try it at the beginning of my pregnancy and it worked fine. Good luck :-)

Just today I was asking my midwife about things and she recommended chlorophyll. You can get it at a vitamin store. I haven't tried it yet so I can't say for sure that it works but there you go if you want to try it.
