Hey hunn i tried everything when i was pregnant..Talked to my dr and was told the best thing to use to TRY and prevent stretch marks was coco butter and to put a tablespoon of olive oil in It and apply it 3 times  a day..Well it didnt help..I did some research and have found that most of the time lotions dont prevent stretch marks they can help but if women in your family before you had them then more than likely you will too..I used so much lotion that my fiance couldnt take it and it did no good...I hope you can find something that will:) Best of luck to you!

Like BCgirl said unfortunately its hereditary and if your mother/sisters got them you are more likely to get them too. Lotion will help with itchiness and the elaticity of your skin to HELP prevent them but some of us (including me, my mother got them horribly) are just SOL lol. I use palmers lotion with coco butter in it but am still getting them

I used every single expensive cream and lotion and oil out there last time I was pregnant 3 times a day every day and still got them. Those lotions help with keeping your skin moisturized to help it stretch and not itch but if you are predestined to get stretch marks you will get them.
