Older children

I have a 5 year old son that is starting to act out with back talk and attitude everytime he talks. But at the same time he's active like a baby. This is all new started last week and it's gettin worse. Has any one with older kids gone through this? Is it that he can tell that his sister will be here in a week?

Oh, the famous back talk, he is 5 years old has he hung around with kids who do that? That is where most kids do it. Time outs WILL NOT WORK!!! It will make him do it so much more. Try a spanking that should work next time he does it.

Yes could be a hint of jealousy & needs more attention.  Try spending more quality time together just the two of you & involve him more into this whole "having another baby" idea :) he'll come around.

Yeah, he is probably just worried about what it will be like once she is there. I mean it makes sense right? When things change its scary sometimes. I'm sure it will stop shortly after she is born.

He has helped me 100% with everything to prepare for her. Our routine hasn't changed. He's actually been sleeping in my bed at night.  He even picks out stuff to buy her. He's not mad about excited she's coming. But the way he's acting is just crazy

I have heard of a lot of kids doing that, knowing there is another baby coming into the home and they won't be the baby anymore. Maybe try to invole him in some of the baby preporations? Tell him you love him a lot?
