Please! Any already mom's deal with this.

My four year old has a virus called malluscum contagiosum.  He has had it going on two years now. It usually goes away in 18 months but hasn't faded yet and has actually continued to progress. I need to take him to a dermatologist but know they will either do cryotherapy which is uncomfortable or salicylate acid which I could probably just use a soap or cream from over the counter. Have any other moms children had this and how long did it take to go away? Also has any one had to have it treated or used any over the counter therapies for it. I want it gone before the baby come and also I noticed 2 on his face which has freaked me out. Such a beautifull boy and he's getting to the age he will start to become self conscious about it.

I don't know why it won't go away. He gets a bath usually every day if not every other day. He has ever got staph from it. I don't know if cause its on his but and maybe because to much moisture.
