Please pray for my little angel.. has anyone gone through this?

MY little girl was born on Sept 2nd at 9:45 pm.   she weighed 6lbs 12oz..  and was 20 inches long.
I was in labor for 21 hours.. and pushed her out in 10 min..
She had the cord wrapped around her neck and wasnt really breathing when she came out.  Then they suctioned her.. but she started grunting and had a hard time breathing..  the brought her up to NICU..   she's been there for 3 days now.. she has wet lungs.. is on 2liters oxygen at 50%..   her respiratory rate is 90-100..  when it should be around 40-60..    I just left the hospital today..  havent stopped crying..  I want her home and in my arms..   I cant even hold her..

Just read ur post im soooo sorry about what going on.  But lets pray shes in good hands everything will be alright.  My daughter had tons of medical problems when she was born, heart, liver, kidneys and was told she wouldnt live past the first 24-48 hrs, when she did they said she wouldnt live past the next 48-72 hrs and if she did she would be mentally retarded.  She stayed in the NICU for 6 months.  had two platlet tranfusions and needed a liver transplant. Guess what she is now 15 yrs old and healthy.  I bought her home on a oxygen tank and a heart monitor check out my pics on my profile.  I also had a son 15 yrs later who is now 1 yrs old.  He was born not breathing and pulmonary problems he has a cyst on his voice box.  GOD blesses us with these type of children because he knows we will care for them.  I dont know if ur married but im not.  I did this alone with both kids.  Good luck!

I will pray for you and your little one.  I know that it must be heartbraking to see your child like that.  Stay strong.  Try to rest as much as possible.  You will need your strength when she gets to come home.

just thought i would say congrats and i had the same thing happen to my little girl she was born on june 24th she had a lot of trouble breathing because of fluid in her lungs as well as her lungs being underdeveloped due to my GD her breathing was also very fast they called transiet tachypnea of a newborn i probable didn't spell it right she was in the nicu for almost 2 weeks she was on a respirator the first 2 days and then on a cpap machine for the next 4 days the rest of the time she was on a nasal canule. she recovered fully and is now a healthy 2 month old you would never be able to tell she had problems at birth oh and also i want to say that she was not a premie infact she was born at 39 wks weighing 9 lbs 3 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long

I am sorry you had to go through this ... Her lungs being wet is not alway's a bad thing.. It just means that they need to make here cry.... The more she cries, the more she expell's what is in her lungs.... Happened with my youngest. He had wet lungs and the nurse kept telling me to tick him off and make him scream so he'd expell that wetness... She'll be home soon. CONGRATS *HUGS* and take it easy@

Congrats on your baby girl! Like everyone said I know how hard it must be for you to have to go home without her but I am positive that everything will turn out ok. The same thing happened to my sisters first child and he is now 5 years old and going strong!

Congratulatons, I'm sorry you are going through this I can kind of relate. My son wasn't born with the cord around his neck but he didn't cry when they suctioned him and he wasn't pinking up. He to was grunting, He was born with pneumonia which is fluid in the lungs. He was able to breath on his own. He was hooked up to ivs and all sorts of monitors. He was there for five days and now he is a healthy one year old =] She will be fine I know how hard it is and must be for you. She will be home and in your arms soon. Your both in my thoughts and prayers

Hey girl! You're in my thoughts! Congrats on your baby girl. I hope everything turns out okay, which I am sure it will. This is probably very common. Good luck with your new bundle of joy...she was born on my boyfriend's birthday! There's some luck there. Its VJ day...victory in Japan from WWII! Just an interesting fact. Its a day of victory!

girl, that little angel will be in your arms before you know it!!!  i'm sure it's so hard not to be with her now...that's not how any new mother plans to spend her first week with her newborn!  just be sure to visit with her and let her hear your voice.  i know that will be comforting to her.  i'm glad she was close to 7lbs.  that's a good and healthy weight.  she was predicted 6.10 or 611 at your sonogram a week ago, right?
